... scuba course, Lynda had only been with us for about 3 weeks at this stage and this was the first beach time she had had with us. She hadn´t snorkelled in over 10 years and, as I well know after my experience in San Blas, it can leave you a little rattled when you do it again for the first time. Luckily Bel was with Lyn the whole time and I think Lyn took a lot of comfort in the fact that Bel was there.

The second dive down was very painful for me. My ears would ...
Utila, Islas de la Bahía, Honduras mardow... It may sell better than the truth...but an entire country's way-of-life and very LIVES are at stake here. If the worst happens, we (foreigners) can return to our countries--the people of Honduras will have to stay and suffer the consequences of the result.

Here is one article that has the correct information.

http://online.wsj.c om/article_email/SB124623220955866301-l MyQjAxMDI5NDI2OTIyMzkyWj.html

I ...
Roatan, Honduras gennycaArrived in La Cieba so decided to stay the night before heading out to Utilia. Did boring thinks like internet and stocking up on food before jumping on the local bus to the ferry port to head out to Utilia, a great place to dive. Arriving on utila we were touted by loads of young travellers looking to get us to dive with their shop and they didn´t seem to have accomodation if we didn´t dive. We didn´t know yet who we wanted to dive with so becca struck ...
Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras sainty1... which is now our beverage of choice, and we did our best to hone our volleyball skills. We also tried to spend as much time as possible with the local English congregation in the ministry, at the meetings and just hanging out.
Some other highlights include a crazy fund raiser for a charity that we helped out with, that pretty much turned into a battle of the dive shops for supremacy. And guess who came out on top? That's right, we did. The barbecue that the ...
Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras canook... 100L about 5$USD for tomarrow tues.. i booked a whale shark encounter with the research organization for weds day.. and went to a local girl who does laundry and dropped off a load.. i went to the travel agency and asked about booking a flight to tegucigalpa it turned out to be about $140 USD so i figure i will just take the boat back to Ceiba and go see the jungle for a day or two then head out ...
Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras buckwonder... will find today is an interesting mixture of Spanish, English, and Garifuna cultures.

Punta Gorda was the first Garifuna settlement in the Bay islands. As the story goes, a group of slaves that were originally off-loaded here during the heat of a battle (the Garifunas) later refused to leave the island and go with the victors. Today these Garifunas still maintain their own ...
Roatan, Honduras wynjym... until we're close enough to all quietly slide in the water and swim with them for a little bit (no splashing as this cares them off). It's an amazing feeling to be sharing the sea with such a huge fish (the ones I've swum with have been about 30 feet according to my sources). When I first got in I saw one feeding vertically at the surface, then it turned round and faced me for a split second before turning round again and swimming away. I think it's possibly the best thing I've done ...
Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras barkmecca... long gliding effortlessly passed us about 4 metres away to disappear silently into the depths. Stunning. Not one of us returned without a humbled smirk. Not having the underwater camera with at the time, the pictures of the whaleshark with this tale have been sourced from our instructors collection, but they capture what was seen nonetheless. Same fish? Who knows? There were plenty out there. The remaining dives gave us a chance to sample more of the aquatic world on the north side of ...
Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras nybridge... the cruise, people don't feel rushed to go to the specialty restaurants right away. There will probably be less space available near the end as people realize the cruise is almost over and they haven't done this or that yet. So we'll take advantage of it now. Turns out we weren't alone for dinner anyway. 3 other couples showed up last minute and we welcomed the company. The more the merrier. We had a great dinner too.
Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras ronmystyk... black popluation that greeted us. Though the trip was quite cushy, I learned some things on this trip--that's all I'm trying to point out. I appoligize to Hondurans for being naive and ignorant. I am no longer...in that department, anyway... Anyway, once again, we were piled in a little van this time, and driven (very crazily) to our excursion that day. What else?? Unlimited rum punch on a beach all ...
