The first part of the stream was a bit dirty with a lot of litter but as you walked along it it became quite picturesque and the banks were mainly this red-orange sand so it was quite different then anything I've seen before. ... the American journalists used to go during the war. Drinks were outrageously expensive, so we treated ourselves to an ice-tail of coconut ice cream and Malibu, which was cheaper than a drink. ... the heavens opened!! We sheltered from the rain and when it eased thought we'd head back to the hostel, only to find out it hadn't eased at all and looked like drowned rats by the time we were back at our hostel. ... This meant we had to go uphill and against the current when walking through the river and climb up every obstacle only to abseil down and climb back up again!
