A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Nov 19, 2014

We got the bus to Dalat in the morning and it was one of the most uncomfortable journeys of my life. When we arrived there were no taxis to be seen so I had to walk to the hostel which was so far away and so difficult to find; when I got there I was told that they would have collected me if I'd emailed! The guy that runs the hostel, Nyugen, or 'Win' for short, is so ...

Unfortunately the trip itself was really rather poor but like everything there are positives - I reconnected with the river itself and had time to say my goodbyes to it, I met three cool german girls who I enjoyed the trip with, I got to paddle along a little part of the river in ...

Lazy day in Dalat

... in that they actually receive communion row by row instead of having a sort of general go-forward-when-you-feel-like-it line that happens most everywhere else. I thought that was very interesting because the rest of Vietnam is so chaotic and jumbled up that it was almost strange to witness order. Lastly, this was the first service I've ever been to where men and women sat on different sides of the congregation (sex segregated!) Just interesting.
