Wachapreague is a small fishing village that looks out over the Wachapreague Channel, which winds through marshes and wetlands out to the Atlantic between Parramore and Cedar Islands. The Machipongo Indians, whose artifacts have been found in the soil, lived here in 1656 when English settlers arrived. The steamboat Tuckahoe travelled here from New York City beginning in 1884. The hotel built in 1902 was a popular destination for visitors from the north who would come down ...

We drove back roads, and even a trail out to the shoreline trying to find it, but to no avail. We guess it was too far off the shore to be seen.

    From there, we drove ...

Ryan picked out brownies with m&ms for our desert to share. We made sure to take his out first which was brilliant because they were gone fast. Currently in Fishing Bay which is probably one day sail to the entrance to the Atlantic. This is crunch time as we have to decide if we go outside and around Cape Hatteras or take the intra coastal route. If wind is OK we will go outside and Kitty has to learn to whooper & whisser on the boat as we have a 36 to 45 hour passage to make.
