... In 1738 the first legally sanctioned free community of former slaves, Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, was established as part of the presidio’s northern defenses. In 1740, an even stronger attack on St. Augustine was mounted by the Governor of the British colony of Georgia, General James Oglethorpe. He also failed to take the fort. The Treaty of Paris in 1763, ending the French and Indian War, gave Florida and St. Augustine to the British, accomplishing by the stroke of a ...

Not many classic warbirds at our cross-country gas stops;-) Now back in the relatively cool mountain climate after the swelter in Florida, the plan is to get the Highlander repacked and restocked for the trek across the country. ... in all, I only had a loss of 7. Guess it could have been worse. Of course, they were all new balls. Forgot to mention, Tricia lost an entire box, 12 balls of brand spanking new Lady Callaway balls. No wonder golf is such an expensive sport.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. That was a good ending to our golf and made up for some of my lost balls.

Dinner was at Bart's and Dee Dee cooked. It was scumpdelicious. We ...

... pope and Pres. Kennedy. We got excellent service and that cup of hot tea hit the spot. I know that my kids who are part Italian would thoroughly enjoy going to this restaurant. But I have to say that they would say my pasta is better.

  • All in all we had a very good day, the weather didn't keep us from going and having a good time, it was a fun day and a happy day. Until next time, love to all and many hugs God Bless.
