We did it!!!

Enjoy these pics while we drive to Switzerland for lunch. I promise to provide an update on the days events, but last night we just crashed after 175 gruelling kilometres and 5000m of climbing. Trust me when I say it was a slog on the last climb up Alp D'Huez. Many were off their bikes and walking, but not us.

Well what has Nell done to me this time......

After quite a harmless cable car ride to 2700m she ambused me into going to the top unprepared. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Mountain Weather

A travel blog entry by bn.trek

Never having spent anytime in the mountain's before we were amazed at how quick the weather can change and how amazing it is to watch when the clouds are coming up the mountain towards you. It can go from blue and sunny to misty, cold and raining in the matter of minutes and back again just as quick. We have just had a couple of days of rainy …

Leaving for the French Alps tomorrow.......

One of the most famous stages and climb's in the Tour de France and I was going to get a chance to ride the area for a couple of glorius weeks. Third time over six years I have been to this hotel. The food is good, the rooms clean and spacious and the internet connection is efficient. The hotel bar and dining room have a fantastic outlook over the Alp and down to the valley below. If travelling with a bike, the hotel catres for all cyclists needs including bike storage and arranging pre and post-ride massages if required. Great stuff.

This is my third stay at Pic Blanc, and the rooms are newly renovated, and the service welcoming (they even recognised us at reception). Just a quality establishment, with great facilities.
We are here to ride the Marmotte Gran Fondo, and this hotel looks after cyclists very well.
