... beach. We definitely had chosen the wrong day to surf here; tide going out, steep beach! Nevertheless, there are always other beaches and it was back up the coast to Fao, where Lym (Annabelle was a little chilly) once again donned his suit and out he went. Lo and behold, was up on the first wave, and the second, the third.... Following a meal of barbecued chicken risotto ...
Vila Praia de Ancora, Northern Portugal, Portugal lymandannabelle... other than from the coach that took us on our tour. As we left Vigo heading north along a motorway, I realized how green everywhere was compared to when we went to Rojales and the South East of Spain last year. It reminded us both of the Lake District in Cumbria.
Vigo, Galicia, Spain and Canary Islands mickinwhitbyToday I´m headed for Vigo on the Northwest coast. Madrid has been good although tiring. It rained yesterday so I spent the afternoon at the Prado Museum. After that I walked forever, took a few pictures and ate some ice cream. If you´re ever in Madrid I recomend the Museo del Jamon, ham and cheese sandwich + beer = 2euros.

Crew Schedules and Hours
We had a crew change today. It occurs almost every other Friday, where two crew go home for a month and two other crew arrive.
Most large yachts operate seasonally for their owners or are available for charter. In both these situations, there are periods of time when the crew can return home to visit their families. Since we live aboard our yacht all year long, the crew doesn't have the ...
... We also had lunch at a very nice fishing village. It is not a surprise that seafood is popular… some of the local favorites are mussels and octopus. …and of course they make a lot of wine, and we sampled some that was delicious. The end of our day was spent exploring Vigo’s old gothic quarter.
Vigo, Galicia, Spain and Canary Islands kim_williams... was over, the campsite became quiet and peaceful again and we spent our days sitting in the sun or walking on the beach. One morning we went into Caminha and sat at a café in the picturesque main square enjoying a coffee and watching the passing scene. It was market day and there were some children in national dress manning a couple of stalls, a crocodile of cute tots from the local nursery school walked by and a ...
Caminha, Northern Portugal, Portugal oldagetraveller... in the pouring rain. It also looked like the towns local hangout for the kids, hundreds were huddled under umbrellas just doing what kids do. Now it wasn't to bad at first and we were just going to rough out the rain for the night and hope the kids didn't stay to late, but we slowly seemed to be attracting attention and a few lads started eyeing up the bikes, I mean right up close while I was in the van cooking! I told them to clear off, well I could have ...
Bueu, Galicia, Spain and Canary Islands piholland... is where people from Spain travel to buy towels (not sure why but they did have lots of towels for sale) and Em & Eric did get a set just to follow the tradition. Tui was a much nicer place and the cathedral was lovely. On the way home we stopped in Baiona an old port city with a cool old fort. We took the walk along the top of the walls (a 3 km walk).

The day went by quite idylically, and we were pleased to find a homemade pizza waiting for us when we got back to Vigo around 11, and had a long walk to the apartment from the train station, now that the buses were closed. --------- This morning--Surprise!--we woke up late, and had a hasty breakfast before heading down to the port to meet one of Anton's childhood friends, Xosé, and buy ...
