      We left Aberdeen marina at 9:30 on a clear morning and dodged a lot of floating hyacinths in the water. From here on we encountered large drifting rafts of this water plant hoping not to suck any into our engine cooling system. In the video the guidebook describes the dredged channel as "serpentine".
