      It was not quite daylight when we departed and there was some fog due to warming temperatures (a balmy 50 degrees) as well as some drizzle. While we had hoped for clear weather, we gladly settled for warmer temperatures.The first lock down went smoothly with no waiting.       We left Aberdeen marina at 9:30 on a clear morning and dodged a lot of floating hyacinths in the water. From here on we encountered large drifting rafts of this water plant hoping not to suck any into our engine cooling system. In the video the guidebook describes the dredged channel as "serpentine".
