Yesterday was a very long and busy day. The previous night, we had made plans to cruise the locks with our new friends, a big advantage for us since were newbees to the Tenn-Tom. We all wanted to go down as many locks and latitudes and as possible to find warmer weather, bluer skies and the great big ocean. Maria is going through a veterinary neurology residency at Mississippi State. She had made arrangements for us to spend the night at a local equestrian subdivision. The Eagle has landed for real! The guys have spotted three Bald Eagles now on their journey. These videos were taken somewhere along the Tombigbee River near Columbus, MS. Too cool!
... over to visit from another boat who had left their boat for awhile and returned to continue on south. They are on a 42' Grand Banks trawler and were going to leave about 10 am the next morning with the same destination as us, Pirates Cove marina. Looks like we are going to have new buddy boaters again.
