    ... 10a, switch sides again and aim for the middle in 10b, then keep things together through 11. Hammer hard through Thunder Valley and be flat through 12, brake at the 200 then get things committed and trust the tires through 13. Slow up for 14 and go around the Carousel being sure to feel the bump. Switch sides halfway through and lay down the power down the start finish straight.

    ... he didn't have to do all of the usual security screening. Since I was with him they let me go through a modified screening where all I had to do besides walk through the detector and put my baggage through the scanner was have my hands wanded presumably for residue of bomb making. When we got to the gate we had two hours to wait.

    ... can't recall the last "recreational activity" I was involved with that didn't have a waiver where the first line read, "You could die doing this activity". At the same time, I have always found the rewards of undertaking such endeavors to far outweigh the risks involved. Most of the time, simple sound judgement and common sense are all that is needed. Perhaps strongly following a few simple, fundamental rules as well.

    The Beginning

    This morning we woke up later than we planned and finished up packing odds and ends. We said our farewells to Bella and seriously considered puppy-napping her and stealing her off to Canada. With heavy hearts we got into the car around 11 and started our journey up north with multiple considerations of turning around and getting her. The drive was uneventful, we drove through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and ended in Ohio were we slept in out car. ...
