Great morning in Barcelona, bright and sunny. I went out onto our balcony and saw the Sagrada Familia sticking up above the rooftops across the road. Nearly fell off the balcony! Our street is tree lined with lovely apartment buildings with wrought iron balconies opposite - very Parisian.

...stays mainly in the plain. :-) The weather here in Barcelona has just been great. And we are all in awe of Barcelona! We toured around the city in a relaxed, lazy pace and still covered a lot of ground. Antoni Gaudi's art and architecture influences a great many places here. His work is sort of whimsical at times with grotesque yet colorful …
We arrived here Tues morning via easyJet from Paris. We have been here less than 24 hrs and already we are in love with Barcelona. The city, the people, the buildings - colorful, vibrant, friendly...! Already sampled the local tapas, gazpacho, paella and croquets - delicious!
Added bonus - we are staying in a well furnished 2 bedroom apt. …
... After wandering back via some local streets, Naomi returned to find Diane hadn't been able to have much of a rest at all. But what Diane did manage to achieve for the afternoon is a big find that will restore the faith of everyone who was on last year's Vietnam trip. If you were there, you will need to cast your mind back to the lost wallet episode of 2012. Remember how Diane went through her entire suitcase as well as challenging most of us as to whether we had seen of, or ...
This morning, we boarded the bus at 7:45 and were off to the beautiful monastery of Monserrat, and then Barcelona, which are both in the region of Catalonia. They actually speak a different language in this region - they don't like to integrate into the Spanish nationality, we were told; Carmen, our guide, said they actually want to be a different country (like Texas? Ha!). Anyway…

Historical Traveler Reviews Apartments Restaurant Hispanos 7 Suiza Barcelona
I stayed for a long weekend with a group of friends and we were all delighted with this excellent, two bed apartment next to the "Sagrada Familia." The fully equiped kitchen which included a dishwasher and washing machine was perfect for cooking a simple meal or preparing breakfast. We all felt that this apartment deserved 5 stars and would have loved to stay longer. Views of the "Sagrada Familia" from our balcony on the 5th floor added to its charm.
the quality of accommodation was marred slightly by the massage bath not working for 3 days and having to ask 3 times for it to be seen to - seems the batteries of the controller were flat. mildly disappointing also was the lack of music - the site advertised music but the receptionist explained that the hotel's entire system wasn't working at present. digital tv wasn't anything to call home about, mostly spanish & german channels, one italian channel and the obligatory cnn news channel. my idea of satellite and digital tv includes access to movie channels, broad range of news channels, etc - i.e., a bigger selection of english stuff.
Luxurious family apartments
We are a family of five and stayed for three nights. The apartments are spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The bathrooms are a luxurious marble with complimentary toiletries and plenty of towels. The bedrooms were quiet and the beds very comfortable. There is tv and radio. Dvd/play stations are availableto rent. The kitchen is very handy, fully equipped except for a kettle and an iron is a few euros extra. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Sagrada Familia and adjacent metro are literally a few minutes walk away so this is the ideal base to explore this fascinating city. Don't miss Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell or the Museu Picasso.
Good choice for a family
We stayed for a week. It was ideal for us and our 2 year old son. We had a very good meal in the restaurant. As we had a stroller, we didn't find using the Underground very easy, but the hotel is located near several bus routes and all of the major sites are easily reachable by bus
We stayed one night at the hotel prior to departure on a Mediterranean cruise. We are a family of 4, with two kids (12 and 9) travelling with us. This small hotel offered 19 apartments, each with two bedrooms, two baths and a small kitchen. It worked out great for our family, as we intended mostly to recover from the flight and be in place for the cruise. It was extremely clean, well furnished, and provided a lot of space by European hotel standards. We booked the hotel through Orbitz on-line, for a rate of 200 euros, including breakfast.
A wonderful home away from home !
We enjoyed our stay recently at this hotel. We spent the first night in the 2-bed room suite, and when the rest of the gang arrived, we moved to the Royal Suite. This is an excellent place- clean apartments, very friendly staff, and above all, right next to the Sagrada Familia ! The suites are very well appointed, and the Royal Suite is a treat ! We are definitely coming back here for our next trips to this wonderful city
Amazing - Beyond Expectation!
What a terrific hotel! This botique hotel was perfection in every way. Apartment style accomodations with a private balcony. Two bedrooms which was plenty for our party of three travellers. Definitely rate this the best hotel for my whole trip to Spain. Great value! PS - also comes with free breakfast. The lobby of vintage autos was very unique and beautifully arranged.
We are from Holland and went to Barcelona in February. We enjoyed very much staying in an apartment of Hispanos 7 Suiza.
We stayed at the Hispano Siete Suiza (not to be confused with the Hotel Suizo) for three nights in September, then moved to a flat in El Born, which was not ready for us right away.
My husband and I went to Barcelona on a delayed honeymoon from Sept 12th-20th. We stayed at Hispanos Siete Suiza and can't wait to return! We absolutely loved it! The hotel has all of the amenities you could wish for in an upscale property with room size and charm of home. The rooms are all apt-style with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a livingroom, a small kitchen, a mini-bar/fridge, and a balcony. Included in our package was a Spanish-style buffet bkfast every morning! Also, the restaurant La Culpa was amazing...besides bkfast, my husband and I had dinner there 2 nights before we left and the attention to detail, service, and food was unbeatable. Although not inexpensive, the meal was definitely worth it. Also, although not a bother to us, there are a couple of things to note; there's no iron in the room and you have to pay to use it. You also have to pay to have your dishes washed (we purchased our own detergent and did it ourselves) and to use the DVD player. As I stated, not a problem for us as we used our laptop to watch a movie on a rare night in.
