... Taketoyo, but a lot of tourists or hikers would be disappointed at the small wetland, although, as a matter of course, some manias like the site. To avoid this kind of tourist traps as far as possible, we should carefully get enough information for the tourist spots before departure. Because the vacation time is always limited, not to waste my time, I try to be specially careful of the spots below, when I ...

We did the usual disembarkation and re-boarding to go through security in Nagoya. I threw the Japanese quarantine inspectors into a tizzy. I saw there was no line for the security checkpoint and didn't see them at the far end of where the line normally is, so I jumped the barrier and almost violated their quarantine. The decided I didn't have swine flu and let me through. I had only a few minutes between when I got to the gate and we started to board.
... out to be some sort of tofu with red bean paste. To top it of it was fecking expensive as it was a Japanese -al la carte bollocks. toast beautiful toast After a spate of just awful meals we happened upon a cafe in the museum of modern art. Toast was on the menu so we hungrily ordered two portions each. The beauty of seeing toast lovely and golden in colour from artery hardening butter coming towards you. The bread the size of door ...
Kyoto, Japan seebaluck... that there are a thousanad tori which lead up to the top of the hill. I walked a little way through them but unfortunately there was a lot of building or restoraion work going on and the place was pretty messy and unappealing so I turned back after about five minutes and walked back to the hostel. Everywhere you look in Kyoto there are temples, and everywhere else there are shrines. It is hard to see how such a big city has been fitted in between them ...
Kyoto, Japan amycm... station. Once on the bus, we thought we would stay on it, as it was a lot more pleasant than the metro. We soon understood why that chain of events happened. We both looked out the window and after seeing a couple of temples, in an area that seemed to be tourist free, we got off the bus.
We walked around and found a temple. We went in, looked at temple stuff, statues and gods (shinto meets buddhism) and just as we were leaving, we agreed that it would be ...
... they`re supposed to be exceptionally clean and discrete, even though some of them do resemble fairytale castles. Our research had suggested to us that love hotels were actually a pretty good bet for a cheap place to stay, so long as you don`t mind arriving late and leaving early. So, wanting to broaden our Japanese experience, and arriving in Morioka without a place to stay we thought we`d give one a try. So, understanding them to be a viable option for the budget ...
Kyoto, Japan ad_n_caz... food: what can I say but its sugoi!(great)..bloody awesome in fact and most Japanese i ask recognize this. From a massive survey I have performed 2 out of 3 Japanese people think the food is the best thing about their country. (ppl surveyed=3) Half the time I just point at stuff and then take pot luck it will be edible and most times it is and bloody yummy at that. * Polite: Yes they are. No arrogant *******s here. Tsu, Japan keno... while I went for yet another Japanese drink, this one an orange flavored concoction called Qoo. They also had grape, and if you're guessing I eventually downed a can or two of each one, you would be right. It had only been a couple days, but my program of drinking as many different Japanese soft drinks as I could was coming along swimmingly. It helped that our primary modes of transportation were walking and biking out in the sweltering heat. The way to the monkey ...
Arashiyama, Japan battlemonkey... we hopped on our trusty steeds, the first rumble of thunder echoed through the valley. We zipped down the mountain, weaving in and out of crowds, narrowly avoiding cars, laughing and smiling the whole way as we sped down the street somewhat recklessly along with a group of giggling schoolgirls who had overtaken and blew by us out onto the main road. We made our way along the river, and as we passed by Kyoto Tower the first drops of rain began to fall. The clouds opened up, and the ...
