Hirschen Interlaken

... br>Deze hebben we eerder tervergeefs getracht te beklimmen in 2004 én 2007. <br>Helaas ook deze keer zijn we op de helft gestrand... <br>We hadden reeds 4uur omhoog geklommen van 1620 naar 2050 meter hoogte! Volgens de bordjes zouden we hier echter 2uur over moeten doen; Door de sneeuw was dit voor ons niet mogelijk.<br>Eerst was de sneeuw nog leuk maar na dat hij tot de schenen en vervolgens tot de knieen was het bijna niet meer te doen ...

... the next day.<br><br>Day 2 &#8211; Sunday 13th September &#8211; Somehow we slept in until about 9am this morning, which was amazing given all of the sleep Witek had the day before. ... that I brought the videocamera with us and I have been putting it to good use and so has Jessie. Hopefully when we are all through with the vacation we will have a nice amalgamation of all the places we visited. Our footage is really good, and a bit ridiculous too as we are embarassing ourselves and making fun of random things like livestock. It w*s * good thirty minute hike to B*lmer's Hostel, but the views of the Jungfr*u *nd the rest of the Alps helped to lift our spirits. ... was all completed in 1916!!! Amazing. Interlaken has captured our interest and we both agreed to make it back again someday, Jamie would prefer the summer! Interlaken ranked an A+ and is soo far our favorite location we have visited. Now off to Budapest Hungary where we have our nicest hotel reserved and we are very excited to experience the city that we have been told soo many good things about!! Ciao, Josh and Jamie

... it was a Raclette dinner. There was a burner on the table and everyone got a little dish to put special cheese and bacon into and cook in the burner. This melted, cooked dish was then served onto potatoes, vegetables or savouries which we took onto our plates. It was yummy and rather novel to prepare one's own food at the table in this way, it was lovely and sociable. Daniel and Evelyn caught the train home while we retired to our campers.

So we woke up super earlier and left the apartment by 7am. We went on a trip with Nina's mom and her friend and neighbor, Romy. The small town of Lauterbrunnen is nestled in a gorge with sheer cliffs either side rising a kilometre straight up. The word picturesque could have been invented for it.
