        ... shopping in the dark at the small stalls along the sidewalk but by the time we come home the stalls are closed up, the shopkeepers are chatting along the walk, security guards are relaxed, and people are beginning to sleep on the sidewalk. We never felt unsafe but I suspect it might not be a place you'd want to be late at night.

However after trying a few on I only bought one, which defeated the point of going into the shop in the first place!         ... under corrugated iron. She also explained that they are not electric irons, there is no electricity here, the irons are heated using coal. Hot and hard work indeed! The more we looked, the more we could see, and to be honest we could have stood there all day watching the deliveries of clean and dirty laundry and the work going on, but the longer we stayed, the bigger the crowd we were attracting, and I gave my peacock feather to the Geeta, the girl who lived in Dhobi Ghat ...

        ... we managed to see/do a lot, including watching a Bollywood film. It seemed fitting to catch an Indian blockbuster even though it had no subtitles - the AC was worth the full $6!

        Our Asian departure was imminent, but our flight to Ethiopia, Africa had finally arrived. Questioning the unknown Alex and I were saddened to be leaving the tourist friendly South Asia and the comforts of stress free travel.

        And with that we had to remember Hukuna ...

        ... yourself. We went with Reality tours (number one on tripadvisor) and they give 80% of their profits to the slums. Plus, some of their employees live in the slums as well. Seeing their community support which even included an aussie rules slum football team, was quite awesome! After this, we went for a food break at a local restaurant. Again, no booze, no meat, but Dean not completely unhappy... The afternoon was spent seeing some other sights ...
