I knew as soon as I saw the website for the school on Margarita Island it was the place for me! Despite the political unrest and the recession here in Venezuela my purpose is still clear and the possibilities are endless....at the very least I can obtain online students who will pay me in US dollars that can be exchanged at a rate of about 175 Venezuelan Bolivars ...
... called 'Peneros' to the sanctuary a marine ecosystem, which is very unusual. It was a perfect day, warm but not blazing sunshine, a comfortable heat. The little boat was surprisingly nifty going across the lagoon and slowed to a gentle pace to go down the canals, all the canals had names such as ………. Our boatman spoke no English but knew exactly where to find little treasures to share with us such as starfish ...

until pursued by some salesboy from a nearby establishment – don’t they realise
this sort of behaviour is only going to persuade me never to go!
Had a swim & found a convenient palm tree to dry off
under – Imagine these get snapped up pretty soon and then you have to fork out
for parasols or biminis, a strange concept I’ve not seen anywhere else ...
... for just 20!

so well set up for the day’s travels.
This turned out to be far easier (can rarely say that!) than
anticipated - the hotel staff were of
limited use – one guy said as he drove everywhere he didn’t know and the
cleaning ladies knew little more – the book offers no advice either – to get to
... being enough punters, that I would be
sad, so, as the beach here is probably as nice (though maybe more windy) as the
ones there, decided not to bother.
Checked out the not so supermarket that opens on a Monday –
didn’t even sell coffee!!!! But the beer was 3 for a dollar, so who cares about
