... called 'Peneros' to the sanctuary a marine ecosystem, which is very unusual. It was a perfect day, warm but not blazing sunshine, a comfortable heat. The little boat was surprisingly nifty going across the lagoon and slowed to a gentle pace to go down the canals, all the canals had names such as ………. Our boatman spoke no English but knew exactly where to find little treasures to share with us such as starfish ...

until pursued by some salesboy from a nearby establishment – don’t they realise
this sort of behaviour is only going to persuade me never to go!

The beach proper though was well maintained, the water reasonably clear, with
even a few fish visible when swimming!

Enjoyed sampling a couple of the local beers ...

... the late (after dark) arrival time and the fact I had no local currency had pre-booked the accommodation & taxi from airport. It soon became apparent, given current exchange rates, what a rip off the $10 taxi ride had been, but in the end it was a good job I had played it safe.

Despite knowing my arrival time and his insisting that, as he lived on premises, he was always there, he had gone to the bar and got totally rat *****. ...
