... at being paid €5 less than his fee but he had to accept it or make us miss our bus and flight. Luckily he took the money and left, pretty disgruntled but we didn't stay around to chat because as soon as we jumped on the bus left. We felt bad about not paying the dude the right money for most of the journey. We arrived at the airport and as we got their some lady face planted into the side walk. Naturally I helped her up and she was thankful. Later whilst waiting for ...

      The Dolomites Day 2

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 20, 2015

Today we woke up sore and stiff from the previous day's workout. We had breakfast then geared up for the day of snow sports. Today we made sure to stick to blue runs so no more incidents like that of yesterday's. We did a few runs near the hotel before plotting a course to the top of the mountain - Tofana. We had a few emotional moments of being stuck on the mountain, not being able to go back up or down. After ...

... took a good 30minutes to arrive! Eventually we got our ski passes and jumped in a taxi to our hotel. We were wondering just how much it was going to cost! I was hoping less that €50! Luckily it only came to €25 so I was pretty happy about that and the taxi driver was great, telling us all about the area. The hotel was lovely, a huge spacious room and a fantastic view of the mountains. What more could you ...

... my eyes - it was unbelievable. After craning our necks we decided it was time to leave this masterpiece and visit St. Peter's Basilica. After waiting in line for 1h staring at this gigantic building and listening to the Christmas carols (I think they are dragging the celebrations out a tad too long) the anticipation was building. There is no other word to say it...this Basilica was beyond WOW!!! Made entirely of marble with beautiful statues, artwork and all the ...
