... traditional village famous for it's 7 onsen and also for crab and as it was in season I was hoping to try some. I wasn't able to check into my room yet so I went for a stroll around town, a canal runs through the village which is lined with cherry blossoms, but unfortunately I was too early to witness them. I walked along to a temple and saw that the statues all had woolly hats on because it was so cold, cute!

... in the women's room there were also Turkish baths and an upstair area with an outdoor bath and shower area. Imagine bathing in 40 degree water whilst the snow falls about your head, beautiful! Unfortunately Jonny only realised about the upstairs area in the men's bath later!! Boo!! But at least there were plenty more Onsen to make up for that mistake.
