... convinced there was snow mingled in with the rain. Yes, just popped out to check and she is right, snow within the rain and so cold for us in June! The location is stunning as can be seen in the two photographs , the peace and quiet is much needed. A steady drive to Jyvaskyla with the temperature dropping to 3.5C as we drove, a chilly day! ... in winter and disc golf course and MTB tracks in summer). It has actually been a while since I've taken up a genuinely new sport, rather simply re-learning one I played when I was younger. I was awful, really terrible - but its also nice to suck at something and realise it can only get better!!!

Had some grub at Ali Baba's Pizza place - B
Pizza and a large coke for 10 euros. Don't mind if I do. Big pizza actually, took half of it home!

Well next weekend I'm off to Tallinn but the weekend after I'm hoping to take the trip down to Tampere for the day, so we'll see what that has in store!

... finally did something other than travel to work, eat or sleep. I went to watch the local ice hockey team (JYP) play (they are national champions no less!). But they lost so I'm clearly a jinx though.

Interesting little arena (Synergie-Areena to give it its name). It holds about 4,000 people and has a good old-fashioned atmosphere in there. It is a proper hockey arena though, not all gleaming and fancy but down to earth and a little bit ...

... checking toes, collars, eyes, ears...everything. Takes a long time when you have to do 100 dogs. The boys were generally doing building tasks at this time.

Puppy feeding- the little pups needed to be fed 4 times per day. Whoever had this job always complained because as soon as you walk into their cage you are covered in puppy **** and urine. Hence you could hear most volunteers grumbling "dirty stinking puppies" or "little poop demons".
