... one dish was too spicy. The spinach soup was humdrum.

Afterwards we got our train tickets booked for our trip from NJP, West Bengal to Guwhatti, Assam on the 7th of November. and Dave transferred the Arunachal Pradesh permit fee of $100 per person. We immediately received an email with permit attachment of which we have to print 20 copies. The permit process can take up to four days took more like 20 minutes. We felt we got a lot ...

... an overwhelming experience for me. I have fallen for Sikkimese people and their ultimate simplicity. The most incredible experience was the unforgettable hospitality shown by the people of Sikkim . Sikkimese people have fresh, pure and strong hearts, just like Himalayas. They are honest, friendly and helpful. I have never seen such lovely people in my entire life. I wish I could stay there for a few more days. Planning for a second visit to Sikkim soon. Definitely worth it.

Along the way we continued to descend out of the mountains and down into the valley, passing monkeys and bamboo forest along the way. After some more driving, we came to the Sikkim border where we had to show our permit and get checked in. Since Sikkim is contested territory, they take extra precautions, but the check in process was simple and painless. After we crossed the border, ...

... this is ‘one of India’s best’ zoos, I’d rather not even think about the other ones.

At least there was the Mountaineering Institute in the grounds, I thought, until we got in there to find it was more like a North Face display window. There were some interesting bits about the first Everest ascension and the few attempts preceding it, but other than that…an epic fail.

Thank God for the views on the walk ...
