    Cruise Day 6 - Tenerife

A travel blog entry by argyles on Apr 02, 2015

Today we were on the beautiful island of Tenerife. The pilots embarked at 8am, and we were alongside shortly after 9am. Unfortunately Grampa isn't very well so we spent today trying to find a pharmacist. Today was a religious holiday and not many shops were open. The weather was very warm and sunny. Unfortunately both of us burnt as ...

Today we arrived at Tenerife, (pronounced tenner riff) Canary Islands, Spain at 1100. We had only a few hours on shore and we elected not to do an MSC excursion, but we did hire a taxi and shared this with a German couple. We went to Puerto Santa Cruz, which is the hot spot for German tourists and is about 30 minutes away from Tenerife, on the other side of the island. Tenerife is the largest island of the group and Santa Cruz is the co-capital with Las Palmas.

We were pleasantly surprised. The downtown area was charming and ...

Fatigue. Foreign language. Firm belief I will reach my destination. Psychological resilience is defined as an individual's ability to properly adapt to stress and adversity. We do this every day to varying degrees. I think I'm fairly good at being resilient. I was given an article on Stoicism this week. "We have little control over the events in our lives -- except ...

    Vacation Time!

After the snow and then rainy weather in Stockholm we were more than ready for a little holiday.

We were lucky to be traveling with our friends Christine and Pelle. He is a consummate travel planner and we put our itinerary in his capable hands. In fact, Lars' only instructions were "surprise me" and so when we met at the airport in Stockholm the only thing we knew was that the next 14 days would be spent in the Canary ...
