    ... Oh well. We did speak to Mr. Wong the owner on the way out, in true form he was clutching the Racing Post. My pidgin Cantonese broke the ice and we had a chat about Hong Kong. He had lived in Tenerife for the last 40 years and said it was pretty tough. Personally I think his food is too good and he may need to go down the route of the silver foil tray if he wants to get in the British tourist hordes.

    ... hard to see how rough it was from the apartment but became a bit more evident once we got to the harbour. First was breakfast on the harbour front and very nice it was too.     ... There was a quiz going on and the winning team was ably assisted by Jayne & myself. They won hands down but didn't give us any credit for it or any of the Champagne that they won. Lesson learnt, knowledge is something best kept to yourself. We finished the night off with a couple of glasses of vino collapso on the balcony as the deluge had finally stopped. Tomorrow we were going to try and get out for some jolly japes on the high seas.

    Arrived in Teneriffe at 7am. Still pitch black and raining. However we were ashore and in the city by 9am and the skies brightened into a lovely warm day. After walking round for a while to see the sights we found that there was a tram that took a 45 minute ride up high into the hills.
