... ladies. It was interesting to hear their accents and the language they used. They speak in Pennyslvania Dutch, which is a dialect of German, and in English.
I could go on and on (oh, wait, I guess I have been doing just that!), but the visit was great. Short, but fun and educational! I have always been fascinated by this group of people and was happy to have had the chance to visit for a day.

One of my sources said that Ramsey Canyon was fine but another more reliable source said the fire came to within 3/4 mile of the house and was stopped at the road. The area is still under evacuation. ... Newark. We were planning on taking a train, but Dad decided that he would come pick us up. We were so excited about this. Thanks again Dad.
We spent the rest of today and all of tomorrow with my family. I am really glad that we came home for the services even though Gram had told Dad to tell us not to. ... a toll when you leave New Jersey no matter where you leave that state. I guess they want you to come and stay and not leave but if you leave they charge you to do that. Another 20 miles north on I-295 and we exited at 20 to check into our room at the Best Western.
We had rain along the way especially after we left the Baltimore area and by the time we got to New Jersey it turned pretty cool with the temp at 69 so it was not too bad weather wise.
