... this is one of a kind and quite massive.
Another incredible thing we enjoyed was the coastal area and seeing the work that was completed for the 2007 Americas Cup. The quick break down is this: In 2007 the Americas Cup returned to Europe for the first time since its inaugural year in 1851. This was because it wasn't until 2003 that a European team won (I feel una broma [joke] coming on). However, it wasn't Spain ...
... interested. They have a great complex- The City of Arts and Sciences which you can easily spend two whole days in. There's everything from dolphin shows to films on Egyptology.
Found the city to be a little quiet and not just as impressive as other spainish cities, such as Seville, but def worth a visit- especially if you can join it up with a feista- I would love to go back for La fallas.
Hello All!
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write on this. It has been super busy here (which actually means that I spend the majority of my free time siesta-ing). Things have been really great.
For my birthday weekend, two friends and I took a weekend trip to Valencia. We took the train after school on Friday and arrived in Valencia around 9 30pm. It took us around an ...
... Our night was capped off by a lovely dinner we prepared, and a pub crawl.
The next morning we revisited a church were the Holy Grail was said to be. Thats right folks I said it, the Holy Grail! It is the only grail recognized by the vatican as THE one. It was pretty impressive, and I must say it did look holy.
The next day my new friends Cassandra and Annelise were off to Madrid.
... a bit... back in Valencia...and like expected the weather was superb! The romanian driver who was supposed to take us to Madrid never answered to our calls...and we found that the cheapest way reach the airport is to rent a car. Thats the good thing with travelling with so many mates...the transport expenses are lower. Goodbye to our friends in Valencia...we'r gonna miss Frida! Little sleep in the airport and off we go... Canada...here we come.. we r ready for the 8hour flight over Atlantic.
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands rambler... it started at 12! Thanks for telling us love!.. never mind, may be back one day! Still managed to find some squashed tomatoes to throw at each other..
That eve was spend in town where we got nice and drunk and ate pizza. Photo ops at night are great, such a pretty city.
Next day spend on the beach (not so nice). Wouldn't head down there unless you have time to kill it's just we did, and it was hot!
Our coach departed at about 11pm for Bilbao!
... a wedding dress, singings "stand by me," while someone dressed in an egg costumed danced around. I was really surprised that this would be in a children's tv show. But, some of the girls from LEA program told me that the show was very controversial in different regions. On Thursday, the last day of the program for the week, I had an interesting conversation (in Spanish!) with a girl about American and Spanish movies. She told me ...
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands papamanaco... time we got pizzas at this restaurant and I ordered this one pizza with what i was told was sausages but it came out with French Fries and cut up hot dogs on top. I'm sorry, I wasn't aware I ordered the kindergartener's pizza. Did you let your 5 yr old grandchild make my pizza? Hahhaa it was the sickest pizza I have ever eaten. I ate the fries and that's about it. It was pretty bad. K so we had a flight early in the morning from Napoli to Rome to Athens... again bad planning ...
Valencia, Spain michelleshin... off to signal the beginning of the end. It gave me goosebumps to watch these fireworks arching towards the sky all over the city. One last goodbye. Then a string of fireworks was lit, and like lightning the string exploded around the falla, causing it to burst into flames. At first the fires were small and contained, but after a pause the entire thing was suddenly engulfed in flames, and the heat was so intense we had to step back. In a few minutes the ...
