Our first night of camping. We visited Will Roger's birthplace that was only a couple miles away. We walked on the boat docks down in the marina. There were a couple hundred boats there, pontoon party boats and sail boats. We saw some really beautiful sailboats.
Claremore, Oklahoma, United States ironworker025We're already halfway with an ETA Casa Grande for Sunday. Gray day, fairly easy driving with no specific highlights. We're parked in a KOA attached to a Casino where we will have dinner and may spend a few nickels for fun. The trick is to never play the winnings, otherwise you loose everything. We're moving at a rate of about 300 miles/500 km per day, basically 6+ hours of driving. Thinking of you.
Claremore, Oklahoma, United States averynetOkay, Tulsa is nothing like what I expected. It's a city!!! Again (much like Witchita), I was expecting a small little two-horse town. It's busy with flyovers and freeways and lots and lots of traffic!

When we signed into the hotel, the sign in girl was really friendly and amazed that we'd be visiting Tulsa all the way from Australia. We then schlepped down to Arby's for dinner and the young negro girl there was also blown away by the fact we ...

Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States chrissybzOk..we have 2 more days till we depart. Is everyone getting excited? I know I am. I just received confirmation from the Hotel in Alabama that we can make signs for the doors. So let's get those creative juices flowing and make some signs. Use your imagination and fake fur..maybe a splash of glitter.. Don't forget the coaches.. there is nothing more manly than a coaches name thats been bedazzled. Here are a few pictures from the car wash..
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, United States bastormsoccerSo we are down to 7 days.. 7 days...For a parent don't blink..For a 14 year old its like..omg that's forever and a hundred. Plus if I hear another teenager say "it's like" one more time I'm ramming my car in a wall.

I'm sitting here in the office trying to figure out what am I going to ...
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, United States bastormsoccerAnother rest stop on the way home. Tulsa was absolutely stifling with humidity and heat when we arrived. I guess we are heading in the right direction.

On the way to Tulsa, we drove through St. Louis. We had a great view of the Arch as we drove through the city. Jerry & I have both visited the Arch before, so we didn't make any stops here.

We did see a Nike Outlet at one of our roadside stops. Jerry went ...
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States hollyesparza... had taken with us. I ended up getting quite a lot of sun in a little over an hour. I needed it, too! After the pool, we showered and returned to the festival to try an Indian taco. It was the basic lettuce, cheese, and sour cream but on a fried pita-like corn cake. It was pretty good. We also tried lumpia (Filipino egg rolls) that were quite delicious, and rinsed it all down with a pina colada. We found a shady spot next to the stage to relax and people watch while some band played ...
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States 2olives... t thank her enough for getting Stacey, Ruben, Alexa, and their significant others out (and to keep it a secret). We had lot's of good Mexican good and too many good drinks. My last few days in the US were spent in Dallas enjoying the great food and spending time with Tanya. On one our last nights outs...we even managed to see an authentic India rickshaw patrolling the streets of Dallas. Crazy. Enjoy the pics.
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States bwulz... not prettiest) city in the country. As most EFL teachers experienced with Korea know though, things you're promised - even in writing - don't always work out the way they're planned. Discovering it not to be the case upon arrival was only the first of many uncomfortable realizations. It's all a long story, really. In recollection, I'm not sure why I didn't do more research. I wound up, as ...
