Last day in Ireland
Today is our last day in Ireland - the land of the fantastic scenery and the rain!! We left Killarney on Monday and drove to Galway via the car ferry at Tarbet and the Cliffs of Mohr. Intervarsities
... following day. We won all 6 games we played, which were against all the possible teams we could play the next day. The 4-seed ended up forfeiting so we had an auto-bid to the championship game for the Plate. When we played in this game, we simply were outplayed by the other team, who we had beaten twice the previous day, and we lost in two. Belfast
... route southward but came in to Belfast for shelter.
I spent most of the day out and about in the rain, but not getting wet due to good waterproofs. At 6pm I went to the Grand Opera House for a 1 hour session on Rigoletto - Scotish National Opera are on tour performing. It was very interesting and the first opera I have experienced live. Don't think much of the story, though.

Ferries, Glasgow, Belfast and more...
... to the city on the bus (it starts at George Square, does one loop, then comes back to George Square and does another loop in a different direction), then went looking for lunch. None of the cafes near the gallery of modern art caught our eye, so we went to The Counting House - a rather large and lovely looking pub in an old bank, which is sadly a Wetherspoons, so the menu was virtually identical to the last Wetherspoons pub we went to. Not a bad steak and ale pie, though.
