Nice hotel, good location

We enjoyed our stay very much. We visit San Francisco often and this hotel was convenient, nicely decorated, clean, comfy bed, good service and the price was very good by San Francisco standards. We had a courtyard room and it was very quiet. We got a special park and stay rate that included free parking.

SFFW Hilton... wonderful stay

What's the fuss all about. I can't believe the all the bad reviews of this hotel. I COULD NOT HEAR MY NEIGHBORS TAlKING though I had neighbors on both sides. Perhaps the other reviewers had their window open and where overhearing the guest by the pool. I paid $65.00 per night through Priceline (compaired to $179.00) through the companies own website. I wasn't looked down upon by staff. Hell, they have no idea what I paid for my room. (Next time, for those of you that get attitude from staff personnel at the hotel because you purchased a room through priceline.com, asked them what their rate when they stay at a Hilton while on vacation. I promise you they pay far less than the any price you bid on priceline. Therefore, they can lose the attitude.) Again, I have a GREAT stay in San Francisco, and I would stay at the Hilton again without hesitation. The hotel is across the street from the cable car line; the water front is two blocks away. For those of you wishing to travel on a budget, Safeway is two blocks to the east. There you will find a friendly shopping (grocery) shopping experience. Make sure you sign up for their savings card for added savings. I use the card everytime a travel to San Fancisco.

Loved It!

A very nice hotel. Easy to find. Central for everything we wanted to see - Alcatraz Island, The Piers, Cable Cars etc. Very pleasant staff who easily and quickly remedied a faulty flush toilet and tv, lovely room. Car parking expensive, but then most are around there. Breakfast expensive but plenty of place to eat around.

Not your typical Hilton

I just returned my a trip to California. I stayed for one night at this hotel on 8/31. My biggest complaint is the walls. They are too thin, you can hear your neighbor talking at normal volumes. I was woken up at 5am by my neighbors. I was upgraded to a suite because I am a gold member. The room size is great, but the noise is a killer. The complementary breakfast is only continental for gold/diamond members.

Otherwise, you can get the continental breakfast for 6.95 and hot breakfast for about 10. There is nothing special for breakfast. In my opinion, you can do better by walking onto fisherman's wharf. it is only 5 minute walk. I found why this is NOT your typical Hilton, because it hasn't been a Hilton. The hotel is really old. It was a Ramada Inn for a longtime, then it became a Radisson. It has only been a Hilton for the past 3 years. You can tell there is LOTs of wear and tear on the carpets and the elevator. If you want a real Hilton experience, try the Hilton SF, I stayed there too on this trip and was much better. By the way, parking is $24. You MAY be able to find street parking, if you are lucky. It's a safe neighborhood.

Great hotel

August 11th-15th

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights to tour the city. The hotel was very nice in our opinion (and I can be hard to please). We liked the fact that the room was clean, the fixtures were in good shape, the room was a good size, and the front desk was very friendly to us. We also requested a room with a courtyard view and the nights were very quiet. We didn't try the restaurant but instead ventured out each morning for breakfast. The hotel is VERY convenient to all the wharf attractions and the bus routes go by there as well. They also have just installed high speed internet access in the rooms - that was great.

Not Good For Captains!

If you are a Captian and have been recommended to stay here by one of your subordinates, think again.....You will be very disapointed.

Perhaps there is someone else within the organization who can steer you in the right direction...someone who is willing to go that extra mile for you when the chips are down...someone known for their Professional Standards. Problems mentioned in adjacent postings are echoed here.

Staff Not Helpful

The Suite was average, we had problems with the lamps and the maintenance men, when we asked the desk for an area code of another city they suggested we call 411! They offer USA Today but the Hilton doesn't put newspaper at your door. We didn't have a decent view. The valet did not offer to put our luggage in the car when we left. We were paying $270 a night and expected better service. Recommended only at your own risk.

Would Not return

We stayed there for several days and would not return. There are way better places on the Wharf. I am a HHonors Diamond member so I wanted to stay at a Hilton. We have stayed at both the Marriott and Hyatt at the Wharf and they are FAR superior hotels. The front desk staff was very rude and the rooms nothing special. Skip the Hilton Wharf.

Rooms ok, Staff rude

Hotel rooms were average in quality. Staff was rude and unaccommodating upon discovering we had discounted rates. Wouldn't stay there again.

Average property

As far as Hiltons go in big cities, this one was average. No tall building in that part of town, so this was only 3 stories. Only one small elevator, and access to the parking level was difficult with luggage. Average Hilton room, but no special perks for HHonors Diamond members. Convenient to the tourist areas of that part of San Fran.
