      ... playing up to the crowd while up a tree. Also good was the tiger, polar bears, panda, the lioness and the jaguar. Interestingly they had a number of tassie devils so obviously the breeding program has reached far and wide.

      The next day we headed to sea world for the day. Plenty of highlights here and it blew the zoo out of the park in comparison. Beluga (white) whales, polar bears, penguins, otters and dolphins but the shows ...

      ... amazing though. For part of the way I walked the beach, carrying my sandals so that the waves could lap over my bare feet, pulling at my ankles as they rushed back out to sea, only to come and taunt me yet again. I stood in complete awe at the surfers riding the waves into shore. They looked like they were having the time of their life out there on the open water. I wanted so badly to share in that feeling.       ... At the El Fornaio restaurant on the island we met another guest with our dinner party. It was "Andrew", a young man we met several years ago when Beth first moved to SD. After a fine dining experience, Andrew drove us back to the mainland to retrieve our vehicle for our drive home.

      ... was a little slow to get started, but once he got to where the water meets the shore he suddenly felt right at home.       That evening we decided we'd go for a drive up the inner city freeway to get some fish 'n' chips.
