Staying at the Hilton Nairobi was great! The rooms were wonderful, the food in the restaurant was delicious and acommodating. The bellhop took care of all of my juices in the freezer and one of them even called to help me order fresh juice from a local juice bar the second time we stayed there on our return from the safari. They allowed me to use a specific computer so that I could locate a place for us to go to Church and helped me find the right one that was closest to us.

Hilton have comfortable contemporary rooms with a city view. The comfortable room has large soundproofed windows, which i enjoyed the silence of the warm night.

First, the Good: We had a wonderful morning for our safari. We saw a Cape buffalo and a giraffe before stopping to enjoy the sunrise. Then Jackson found a male lion who was nursing some serious wounds. Jackson explained that the lion was attacked by females in his pride because he had tried to mate with them, but another male had entered the pride …

Jason and Emily told us that the lines at the airport were quite long yesterday, so I wanted to make sure that we arrived in plenty of time to clear security. Our flight to Nairobi on Kenya Airways was scheduled for 10:55 AM, so we met in the hotel lobby at 8 AM to take the hotel shuttle to the airport terminal.

We got to the airport …

Justin suggested that we all go to Crescent Island today, so he arranged for a driver to pick us up at the hotel around 9 AM. The island, which is actually a peninsula of about three square miles, is located about two hours northwest of Nairobi on Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. The island is privately owned, and the attraction is that …

Justin, Dan and I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, then Justin arranged for a driver to take us all to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where they keep orphaned baby elephants. We got there promptly at 11 AM when they allow the public to view the elephants for an hour. We left the elephants about 11:45 AM and the driver took us to the …

Justin had some work to do today, which he could do from his hotel room, so it was a good day for Dan and I to take a breather and plan our time in Nairobi. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which was very good. They had a large spread of continental breakfast items like breads and cheeses and cold cuts, as well as heartier fare such as …
