Great deal at the Del Mar Hilton

    from

I got a great rate on Priceline for this hotel, and then read terrible reviews online afterwards, so I was very nervous about our stay, especially since we were travelling with our 8 month old. But I couldn't have been happier with the service we received. We encountered no snobbery, and our special requests (refrigerator, 2 beds, non-smoking) were met with no problems. The room was clean, the food was good, and there was no noise from adjacent rooms. Beautiful grounds, and great pool. I highly recommend this hotel! (It never hurts to be good about tipping, especially your housekeeper.)

    Very nice!

    from

We recently stayed at the Del Mar Hilton for our anniversary/Valentine's Day. While the property does look a bit outdated, the rooms look like they have been renovated recently.

Extremely clean and very large, especially the bath. We had a standard king room, and the bathroom was probably twice the size than what we usually encounter. I am real stickler for cleanliness, and this room was extremely clean. The furnishings were nice although not unique or memorable, but we didn't expect them to be. If you come during racing season, this is the place to stay -- literally a stone's throw from the track. We did encounter noisy neighbors, but the staff apparently were on top of it, because it soon subsided, after we called down to the front desk to complain. Everyone was pleasant. We did not eat at the restaurant or have room service while we were there, since I wanted to try all the local restaurants instead. I have heard good things about the restaurant on the property, though.

    We will return !

Enjoyed this hotel very much. The front desk was friendly and helpfull for dinner suggestions. They have very clean and updated rooms. I noticed the bedspreeds were newer. The pool was clean ,as well as the spa. They also have a lounge in the lobby for those evening cocktails or a cold beer by the pool. We liked the short trip to the Del Mar Plaza for a sunset dinner and evening strolls through shops.

Quiet and peaceful-- loved the layout of the grounds

I have stayed there many times on business and drive a little farther to be there because I enjoy the grounds so much.

    Hilton Del Mar Excellent Location

    from

We stayed at the Hilton Del Mar over the 4th of July weekend. Newly remodeled rooms are clean and have extra large bathroom. Conveniently located across from the Del Mar Racetrack. Bellman drove us to and from the racetrack in Hilton van. Free parking, nice bar and pool/patio area. Would definitely recommend.

    Gorgeous

    from

gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The location, the hotel, even the employees....gorgeous!!!

    Beautiful

    from

Very beautiful hotel and grounds, with a nice pool. Rooms were good size and comfortable. This hotel could use a few more services like a continental breakfast, free paper, and a fridge in the rooms. Overall it was ok place to stay, but friendlier service would be nice.

    Padre Pub!

... see that far, there was a stunning view part of the San Andreas Fault which jagged across the ground. After spending to long at Joshua Tree we began our route to San Diego. For the record, as we approached the city, we drove on what is certainly the largest road we have ever encountered. With nine lanes going one way, this monster highway sped us into the city. After settling into the hostel and cooking dinner, we walked the mile towards the beach to meet Abbie's university ...

... 1/2014 Today we got up and had to pack and check out of our room in San Diego. Mum & Dad had organised to go to the Library! I didn't really want to go, but they said I had to. The Valet at the hotel even told me to have a great day at the "library". We hopped in a taxi and off we went. When we were lining up to get in it didn't look like a library , in fact it looked a lot like SEA WORLD. Wow, Orca Orca Orcas , it was just ORCASOME ! I was a ...

... royalty they had in the stand today, because they had an awesome win after having to play 2 extra innings to decide the winner. Anyone that told us the Americans make big meals didn't lie either. Andrew came back to our seats with 3 individual serves of pizza. We opened the box to find 1 piece in each box, but it was no ordinary piece of pizza. It was about the same size as 1/8th of a family pizza. It was massive! Needless to say 3 pieces between 4 of us was ample.

Danielle wanted to watch a 4D movie based on the animated film, Ice Age. I thought it was junk but she enjoyed it. As we were now on the far side of the zoo, we jumped on Skyfari, ...
