Great deal at the Del Mar Hilton

      from

I got a great rate on Priceline for this hotel, and then read terrible reviews online afterwards, so I was very nervous about our stay, especially since we were travelling with our 8 month old. But I couldn't have been happier with the service we received. We encountered no snobbery, and our special requests (refrigerator, 2 beds, non-smoking) were met with no problems. The room was clean, the food was good, and there was no noise from adjacent rooms. Beautiful grounds, and great pool. I highly recommend this hotel! (It never hurts to be good about tipping, especially your housekeeper.)

      Very nice!

      from

We recently stayed at the Del Mar Hilton for our anniversary/Valentine's Day. While the property does look a bit outdated, the rooms look like they have been renovated recently.

Extremely clean and very large, especially the bath. We had a standard king room, and the bathroom was probably twice the size than what we usually encounter. I am real stickler for cleanliness, and this room was extremely clean. The furnishings were nice although not unique or memorable, but we didn't expect them to be. If you come during racing season, this is the place to stay -- literally a stone's throw from the track. We did encounter noisy neighbors, but the staff apparently were on top of it, because it soon subsided, after we called down to the front desk to complain. Everyone was pleasant. We did not eat at the restaurant or have room service while we were there, since I wanted to try all the local restaurants instead. I have heard good things about the restaurant on the property, though.

      We will return !

Enjoyed this hotel very much. The front desk was friendly and helpfull for dinner suggestions. They have very clean and updated rooms. I noticed the bedspreeds were newer. The pool was clean ,as well as the spa. They also have a lounge in the lobby for those evening cocktails or a cold beer by the pool. We liked the short trip to the Del Mar Plaza for a sunset dinner and evening strolls through shops.

Quiet and peaceful-- loved the layout of the grounds

I have stayed there many times on business and drive a little farther to be there because I enjoy the grounds so much.

      Hilton Del Mar Excellent Location

      from

We stayed at the Hilton Del Mar over the 4th of July weekend. Newly remodeled rooms are clean and have extra large bathroom. Conveniently located across from the Del Mar Racetrack. Bellman drove us to and from the racetrack in Hilton van. Free parking, nice bar and pool/patio area. Would definitely recommend.

      Gorgeous

gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The location, the hotel, even the employees....gorgeous!!!

      Beautiful

      from

Very beautiful hotel and grounds, with a nice pool. Rooms were good size and comfortable. This hotel could use a few more services like a continental breakfast, free paper, and a fridge in the rooms. Overall it was ok place to stay, but friendlier service would be nice.

      Padre Pub!

      from

... these if we had the time. Our next stop was at the home of the San Diego Padres baseball team. Petco park was being refurbished at the time with what seemed to be an ice rink being removed. We then drove through the Gaslamp quarter of town before seeing some examples of the Victorian houses that you could purchase from Sears as kit homes. They were delivered to the site and then put together. Our driver was very good and passed on lots of good information. Shopping ...

Yay We started our mad rush by jumping on the cable car and travelling our way to the other side of the park. We started in Africa seeing sleeping lions, elephants, a rhino and other African animals. ... museum.

The maritime museum in San Diego is very different. It is a number of ships, with some displays in the ships itself rather then in a museum. There was an old soviet sub and a few wooden ships. I wandered around, seeing all that it had to offer. There were some good displays about the history of shipping in the area. After i finished here i walked along the water front past the uss midway, stopping to have ...

After our 'celebrity sighting' we had planned to head into the Exhibition floor before the Masquerade replay but instead decided to head into Hall H since there wasnt a line. We made it just in time for the end of the Q&A of the Sons of Anarchy Panel and to see the trailer for Season 7, SOA's final ...

San Diego has lots to offer and the weather was great. We will have to go back there and stay awhile!
So much to see and do - lots of free attractions, and then of course, Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.
