Historical Traveler Reviews of Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Bloomington

Wonderful

from xcskier
The renovation on this hotel is lovely. The beds were comfy and the decor pleasing but a bit pricey, all considered... The food was okay, not great. The one big complaint we have is that the in-room climate is not adjustable, despite the presence of a temperature control device. I had the thermostat control completely lowered to it's very coldest setting with the fan at the highest setting, and we were still quite warm. However, I would stay again, but only during cooler seasons!

All was great-particularily the bed!!!!

The room we had was wonderful, but the bed had to be the most comfortable we have experienced in our years of staying at motels/hotels and resorts. My wife and I are both retired and travel the world. If someone from the Hilton can let us know what mattesses they use we will find an outlet and buy one.

Everything else including: Front desk service, shuttle service to the airport,

dinner at the restaurant and breakfast the next morning, left nothing to be desired.

We will return,

Overall OK, but not worth the price

Stayed for 2 nights in July. Room 1226. Room was hot and even when switching the AC system to high, did not help much. Shower barely had any water pressure, very disappointing. Staff friendly ! 12th floor breakfast was good and attendent on staff there was very friendly. Location was perfect if shopping at Mall Of America. Checkin/Checkout were both quick and easy. Internet access NOT FREE, come on Hilton !! Will find a hotel next trip with free inet access.

Nice Hilton Property

from milepig
Not a single bad thing to say about this property. Nice location for someone flying in/out - a heartbeat from MSP, but I never heard any airport noise whatsoever. A little off the beaten track at the far end of "hotel row", and nothing really close enough to walk to without a true hike, so a car is useful, although there is a shuttle both to/from the Airport and the Mall of America. As HiltonHonors Gold I was upgraded to an exec room with no problems and also got breakfast in the dining room and drinks in the bar when the lounge was closed over the weekend. My room was clean, well designed and quiet, I couldn't really ask for anything more. I have two more reservations next month and am looking forward to returning.

Would definitely come here again!!

Great location - only about 6 blocks away from the Mall of America and right off the highway. The airport is only minutes away. They originally gave us a double room, but since it was only my boyfriend and I, I decided to ask for a king. Fortunately for us, they had one available. The rooms were great and I even had a view of the Minneapolis skyline. My only minor complaint was that the heating system didn't work that well. Instead they gave me a space heater...Besides that, it was a great 3 day stay. Would definitely come here again...

Always a great stay!

We tend to get this through priceline quite a bit at a very reasonable cost. The Hilton is one of our favorite spots to stay when we visit the mall of america. They have a free shuttle to the mall and their hotel restaurant is reasonably priced. The pool is large for kids. The double rooms are nice, smell nice and are well stocked. The hallways are kept clutter free and clean. You will feel very safe at this hotel. There are two whirlpools, one was not too hot and the other was out of order but that's ok, there never seems to be room in them anyway. I would highly suggest this for a weekend getaway or staying near the MSP airport. Our 14 year old loves it. We will always keep our fingers crossed to get this hotel when we go to the cities!

Snotty Deskclerk

from Lizab
When we first arrived the desk clerk made a snotty very audible comment about how we made our reservations online with a certain online site. I was a bit taken aback, but hey -- we got a very very good rate because we shopped around. Just thought it a little poor on her part to look down her nose at us. Then we had requested a crib for our infant. Had to call a couple of times before a grubby looking porta crib arrived, not set up, which was labeled Embassy Suites (hotel next door).

Accomodations were fine.

Great Stay

Stayed one night and had excellent room and service. I am gold level Hilton Honors and when I checked in they didn't have me in a proper room. Was remedied with one phone call. There was a big Northwest Airlines meeting going on and so it was quite busy place. Very convenient to visit Mall of America.Only negative was the workout room was quite cold as it had windows and no heat. Would stay here again for sure.

Terrible

the hotel was clean...but we booked a room that included breakfast, evening drinks, and accomidations for 5(parents and 3 children}....we had to complain to management and show my confirmation which I had luckely remembered to print off the net and take along to get anything reimbursed{2 free drink tickets and 2 free breakfasts was our consolation prise for 5 people}...we left a note for housekeeping to leave extra shampoo and towels due to 5 people in the room , only to discover that upon returning to room after "cleaning" was finished, not only were we left with no extra towels..but NO shampoo or conditioner were left. The vending machines ate 4$ which we never got back...we were left wondering WHY we had to complain to get anywhere with this hotel..they should of seen our reservation and knew what we expected...I DO NOT reccomend this hotel

Hot Hot Hot

from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, BUT our room was near 90 degrees and had no air conditioning and had no windows we could open. My sister slept part of the night on the cool tiling in the bathroom and my mother almost slept in the car. It was ridiculous!

Also, the lady at the front desk when we checked in was not very polite.

All in all, the hotel was nice but I doubt I would go back unless I am refunded my money because it was the worst night I have ever had.
