"Oh New Zealand? Lord of the Rings right?"

"Two Perfect Titles, Lets Keep Blowin' Em Off" Day 4: Universal City. Home of the overpriced motor inn. Howdy all.. so anyway we chucked the motor in and checked in at The Hilton Hotel in Universal City.. home of *cough* Universal Citizens. No just kidding. But we stayed there, im not joking. The room had chairs that you can slide along the floor on and the TV was bigger than Jeremy's biceps (again). He's complaining that im overusing the analogy but I think it still fits. So we crashed there...

Per essere brevi abbiamo visto Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood.

Quick L.A. Getway with My Fiance

Day 1 (Sep 6, 1992) We checked into the Hilton in Universal City (which is near Universal Studios). We then went to the L.A. County Museum of Art (LACMA). Had dinner at Ed Debevic's, a crazy 50's diner with cheeky servers. Drove around Encino for a bit, a town with a feel all its own. Day 2 (Sep 7, 1992) We went shopping in the Melrose Avenue district where there are lots of funky clothing stores, antique stores, and such. Then drove home to San Diego.

What a Great Hotel !!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
What a fantastic hotel !!! My family stayed for 9 days whilst visiting LA and could not have wished for a better location. Minutes from Universal, has a great pool area, is close to the Metro for getting around town (a very affordable method of transport by the way and only one stop from Hollywood Boulevard ), - and with superbly helpful staff who helped us with everything from a great itinerary of what to see around LA to arranging rental cars and limo's for us.

I travel extensively on business and stay in hotels worldwide on a weekly basis. I would certainly rate this hotel ( and it's staff ) in my top five hotels

Great location and value

Stayed at the Hilton June 26-28. Pleasantly suprised upon an early arrival there was a room ready and were were even upgraded to a higher floor overlooking Universal Studios. The room was spacious for the four of us. It is a basic hotel room with mini bar, mini safe, writing desk, lounge chair. It does have a large closet to hold luggage, so you are not tripping over it in the room, which was nice. They also provide an iron and full size ironing board. The bathroom was large, however, the shower faucet dripped all the time. You could tell it had been doing it awhile, I find that amusing because of water conciousness in California. The park shuttle was very convenient, dropping off at City Walk, which is a destination in itself. The pool at the hotel is large (not a resort pool though), with plenty of chairs and lounges in sun and shade. The spa is large and set apart from the pool. I saw room service delivering food and drinks to other guests, which would be nice to take advantage of. We only ate once for breakfast at the hotel. It was pricey and the buffet would be a better value, however our meal was good. There are so many places to eat at City Walk, take advantage of them. Overall, this was a great place to stay, we are happy we did.

Recently spent 4 days at this hotel. Room and bathroom extremely spacious and immaculate. Front desk staff very helpful with tourist imformation. Location convenient to Hollywood, Burbank and Santa Monica Beach. Would definitely return and would highly recommend to others.

Great Location, nice hotel

This Hilton is probably the closest hotel to the Universal Studios. The Studios are just a short walk from the hotel lobby. Rooms are large and clean, great view, friendly staff. The pool is small and rather noisy as it is very close to the freeway. I would reccomend it only if you are planning to spend more than one day at the Universal Studios. Everything else is far away, expecially the beach.

Good Location, Good Hotel

Stayed here on a Thursday night using my Hilton Points for a room. I had a room with two doubles on the "executive (towers) floor". Stayed on the 21 st floor of the 24 story hotel. The hotel is right next to Universal Studios and Citywalk. A free shuttle will take you there but it is a very short walk. The rooms were nice with a large bathroom. The executive floor lounge has a nice view of LA and ok PM snacks and an ok cold breakfast. I wish I had more time to check out the hotel's rest.

They appeared to have a large buffet in the evening and looked very good. The front desk staff was not very nice and when I requested a rollaway (my two kids did not want to share a bed) they told me it would be an extra $35.00! Oh well, I agreed to it. We returned from dinner three hours later to know rollaway. When I called to ask I was put on hold a few times and then someone told me the room we had (2 doubles) were not allowed to have a rollaway (per the fire code). I'm not so sure that was the case or the staff was unsure who failed to bring it to the room. I'd stay here again hoping to get better service.

Super Stay!

Excellent hotel choice for Universal area. Great pool area, hotel restaurant was great for both food and service and the room was one of the nicest I've seen in a while....immaculately clean, furnishings in great condition, relatively comfortable king bed, and spacious bathroom. We stayed for 4 nights and found staff friendly and helpful... Will definitly go back....

Very Convenient, Had a Blast!

Our family of 4 stayed 4 days and 3 nights here and we really enjoyed ourselves! Hotel was nice and clean. Never saw staff but knew they were around because everything was SPOTLESS! We recommend this hotel to anyone going to Universal Studios. We walked there most of the time.

And we got to see Marie Osmond who was there for business! That was a THRILL! Although my kids, 10 and 8 years old couldn't wait to tell Gram that "Mary Omlett" was spotted at our HOTEL! Nice little complimentary breakfast. Bagels, donuts, muffins, cereals, juice, milk, coffee and fruits. And beverages throughout the day as well with a pass to the 22nd floor.Great view at night too! Loved it!

Great Location!

My husband and I stayed here in July 02. We stayed here for 4 nights. Our room had a great view of the Universal Theme Park and the highway/homes in the hills views) We liked being right at the entrance to a theme park and Universal City. The room was clean and spacious. The food is great. They have a breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet that are outstanding! They offer a shuttle service for tours in the la area. We would definately return here!

II Loved The Hilton

I went to the Hilton for Valentines Day weekend. I enjoyed every minute of it. The room was very spacious and remarkable.

Excellent location and service

My family and I stayed at the Universal Hilton in July, 2001. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The location beside of the Universal Studios park was ideal. We never had to use our car to attend the park.

We also found the location to be good for commuting around the Los Angeles area. We took several day trips and had no problem finding our way back to the hotel.
