Family Reunion
I woke up at 4:30am, grabbed my bags, checked out and hopped on the shuttle. He dropped me off at the Air Canada Terminal (which I also though was correct) turns out the flight was operated by United airlines so I had a long way to walk and the airport was very confusing, I eased the stress by grabbing a cuppa and a croisant on the way to the …
Meanwhile back in Calgary....
... a number of the paths and I got some wonderful Calgary skyline shots while up on the hill near the CTV Broadcast centre.
First thing on my 'planned' agenda was a workshop in Red Deer - a SAQA gathering to kick-off a project based on the Burgess Shale fossils. The goal will be to complete a number of pieces that will circulate through the Alberta schools and possibly be exhibited at some of the Alberta ...
Drumheller and Dinosaurs (NO not Brian)
... stopped at the visitor information centre and from there proceeded to the museum. This museum is amazing it features 10 galleries devoted to paleontology with 40 dinosaur skeletons and more than 110,000 fossil specimens.
As usual we have arrived on the biggest Public Holiday weekend of the year so the place is crowded but we still had a great time. We left the museum and headed for the town of Wayne. Once a thriving ...
Stampede to the Finish
... magician, I have no idea how this dude did some of his tricks. One particular trick was holding a deck of cards he was able to pick out cards that the song would say. So the song would says "Aces" and "Jacks" and it would just jumped out of the stack of cards onto his hand. This song was also really fast, so picking out the cards and showing them to the audience with that speed was crazy. It's one of those things you had to see ...
Arrivé à Calgary Yeee Ahhh

Historical Traveler Reviews Delta Bow Valley Calgary
Fantastic
This hotel was fantastic - in a really good location in downtown Calgary. The rooms were really clean, and the staff were very helpful. The hotel pool and jacuzzi was a real plus. Would definitely recommed this place for value for money.
Service At It's Best
My wife and I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff especially the bellman. They were extremely helpful and friendly.
The Hotel's beds are great, no sore backs here. I would certainly strongly recommend this hotel to any traveler. The hot tub and pool were nice touches after a long day of travel
Excellent Stay
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Delta Bow Vally for one night on March 4th. We chose this hotel because it was right in the middle of downtown, and also because we got a very good rate for this type of hotel. We were not dissapointed at all once we got there. The staff were all poliet and helpful. They let us check in more than an hour early, which was really nice because we didn't have to find something to do to kill time. The room was very nice and clean, and everything was in working order. We are planning on returning to Calgary this summer, and we hope to stay at the Delta Bow Vally again!
Great staff, good location, comfy rooms
We were happy to find a great rate for this hotel on Expedia. And when we checked in, ahhh, nothing like throwing open those curtains and seeing the view of the river from the 14th floor. The king bed was comfy, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly - what more could you want?
Well, ok, the TV is a bit small (or do I just need glasses?), and they should put a minifridge into that huge armoire (there's even an empty spot for it!). The hotel feels a tiny bit like a business hotel, but definitely a nice one, and no one snooted at me for being a Calgary tourist. I would not have a problem staying there again, if I could get that great weekend rate as well ;-)
Home away from Home
Prior to my retirement Delta Bow Valley Calgary was home to me as for over a year I stayed weekdays at the Delta and flew home to Vancouver for the weekends. During this time I can't say enough about the hospitality, congeniality and always present kinship I experienced with all the personnel without exception while staying there. I thank them all

Great Hotel
Great location, excellent service, huge comfortable rooms
LOVED this hotel!
I LOVED this hotel. We stayed here on our first and last nights in between a stay in the Canadian Rockies. Initally, we had only planned on one night; we liked it so much at the Delta Bow Valley that we returned for our last night. The service was great; the restaurant was excellent (wonderful breakfast buffet); the pool and jacuzzi were great; the Conceirge was very helpful. It was just a terrific, classy hotel - and we'd return in a minute if we're ever in Calgary again!
Great base to explore the city
I have to go to Calgary three or four times a year and always stay at the Delta Bow. The staff are friendly and the service is good and efficient. Atfer a long trip from the UK it is nice to arrive somewhere welcoming and where you feel at home. The rooms are looking a little dated but are clean and up to the standard you expect from the Delta chain. Will be back in Calgary in January or February and will be back.
All the comforts of home
Great Stay, had all the amenities needed: restaurants, pool, lounge, business services, ect....but what makes me return (stay here all the time) is the staff....they are always looking for ways to make my stay more comfortable.
Excellent Service Makes the Difference
The personalized service made us feel very welcome by the staff. Many of them got to know our names during our five day stay, but beyond that, they presented a standard of excellence that made us want to return to the Delta Bow Valley when we go back to Calgary. Our experience with the hotel's food was very good, and certainly reinforced our impression of the hotel. Two thumbs-up, and an unqualified recommendation.
