... to tell her that he had been in the hospital, but was sent back to the Mad Cow Palace and placed on palliative care. Now Lynne did not tell me this, and Angie did not want to because of my surgery, so she called my daughter Amanda, who passed me on the news.

Luckily I had dropped in to see him about a month ago, and on that particular day he was quite talkative, but not at all cognizant. I actually sat around and laughed with him for about half an hour that day, ...

... br> Tonight we are 15 km. outside London, Ontario. London was on Denis' list to see/go through as he passed through here once on a train. From here we are heading to a few places that figure in Denis' past when the family would leave Quebec and head to Ontario to pick tomatoes in order to earn some money-- not much work in Causapscal where they lived at the time-- and also to places Denis went as a young man to seek work before he decided the military was for him.

On February 27, 2014, we said goodbye to our family and went to Pete and Dinie Twynstra's to catch our bus to Toronto. We drove bye our house on the way to the 401 and on the picture you can see what the weather looked like. It was quite a blizzard and 401 was closed due to accidents around Woodstock. We did finally get to Toronto, but not in time to make our flight. We were fortunate that all 26 of us could catch another flight to New York where we stayed in a hote overnight.
