I left OKC with sun and cloud and 44 F. But as miles of farmfields and trees passed, the clouds thickened up and I wondered when the thermometer would hit 50. It did in spite of the persistent cloud cover, about an hour outside of Little Rock. But, hey, it did not rain.
Saw more of the city than ...
... but I just didn't feel like doing that. Whenever I stayed in one place for more than a few days I got restless: I think I need friends and/or some more stability, like having my own place and being able to unpack and have my own room, to stay in one place for any longer amount of time, which I just wouldn't have while traveling.
So I'm back, and I hope this experience has changed me for the better. I plan on trying ...

visit the "Welcome to Arkansas" welcome center (thanks to David
Andrew's bladder). We got a late start and the rain set us back - but
we were determined to make it ...

I was very late starting today. I didn't start riding until ten am. I think the change in time plus the long ride yesterday caught up with me. Hurricane Gustav heading north and appears that it might hit landfall at New Orleans, Louisiana so a lot of motels on the straight line route to Atlanta Georgia are booked for many days ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States jstephensca... Clinton Museum, an impressive structure with one wing that soars over the Arkansas River. Clinton called it the "Bridge to the 21st Century." So we bought our tickets and entered the museum. The first exhibit (and the only one on the first floor) was a Presidential car. Commentary that outlined safety issues for the President and the role of the Secret Service accompanied the car. A line of photos also supplemented the exhibit and as I looked down, it dawned on me that I ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States flying_shoe... made about the state, a history, encased. Portraits of the governors, Bill Clinton there, some say a fool, some call him great. For sure he made mistakes, was governor, then kicked away, ran again and won. Then President, a two-term guy, world leader and an Eden-tempted man, rolled into one. Americans, we're funny folk, no king for us, democracy instead! Poor as church-mice, middle class, or daddy-rich, you've got the chance to lead the land, we want ...
