Hilton Little Rock Metro Center

I left OKC with sun and cloud and 44 F. But as miles of farmfields and trees passed, the clouds thickened up and I wondered when the thermometer would hit 50. It did in spite of the persistent cloud cover, about an hour outside of Little Rock. But, hey, it did not rain.
Saw more of the city than ...

... but I just didn't feel like doing that. Whenever I stayed in one place for more than a few days I got restless: I think I need friends and/or some more stability, like having my own place and being able to unpack and have my own room, to stay in one place for any longer amount of time, which I just wouldn't have while traveling.

So I'm back, and I hope this experience has changed me for the better. I plan on trying ...

Ok I have to do a better job of writing in this blog every night as I am forgetting what has happened and what we have eaten ( for those of you that are foodies.) Ok so right now we are sitting poolside inthe Best Western Amarillo Inn it is 8.45 and we are waiting for our pizza and pasta delivery. Ok..so after a unfound 126 Exit and many phone calls, all of our group (with exception of Whimpy's car...we temporarily lost her but she is stoped a few exits away!) stopped at a Wendy's for lunch. The trip has been pretty uneventful so far. Thnakfully no break downs or any big problems. We are almost done eating and then will head back on the road we are a little over a thrid of the way there!! And trust me all of the girls are sooooooo excited, and the coaches are pumped ...

... to stretch our legs again. After Mississippi, we
came into Memphis, Tennessee. We were only in TN a short time. As we
crossed a big bridge over the Mississippi River, we went into Arkansas
(the state line actually is in the middle of the river!) We got to
visit the "Welcome to Arkansas" welcome center (thanks to David
Andrew's bladder). We got a late start and the rain set us back - but
we were determined to make it ...

... to downtown riverside.The guides in the museum are volunteer-retiree.
Had lunch at Flying Fish Restaurant. The decor are real fish in the wall with manmade wings.Ate boiled crawfish.Bought their t shirt.
Walk by the River Walk to the Old State museum.It is about the history of Arkansas.It has a temporary exhibits about outlaws like ...

Lunch at McDonald.s for lunch.
Drove toward Little Rock.Stop at an Arkanasas TIC and obtain maps,info and hotel coupons.
Stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport.Little Rock. and use the discount coupon.
Had a pizza dinner at Boston Restaurant.Our waitress is a lonely Filipino American.

I was very late starting today. I didn't start riding until ten am. I think the change in time plus the long ride yesterday caught up with me. Hurricane Gustav heading north and appears that it might hit landfall at New Orleans, Louisiana so a lot of motels on the straight line route to Atlanta Georgia are booked for many days ...

... Clinton Museum, an impressive structure with one wing that soars over the Arkansas River. Clinton called it the "Bridge to the 21st Century." So we bought our tickets and entered the museum.
