The staff had overbooked when we placed our reservation so we were upgraded to the next level up, which was quite nice. It wasn't exactly luxurious but pretty fancy nonetheless. We were bothered by the elevator noise to the point that my fiancee had trouble getting sleep.

... I can remember as I sit here tonight writing this to you. Monday Oh have I got a lot to tell you! First things first, my location. After I blacked out during the tornado, I woke up on the floor of my almost unrecognizable home, with the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow all staring at me. They told me that a tornado had hit and lifted up my hobbit hole and dropped it where we are now. It had dropped us in the Land of Oz, near the home of Beorn, a half bear ...

... to go back the next day and was disappointed as it was a different lady. All the Thai people have been fascinated with the kids wanting to touch them and pinch their cheeks. Lullah has been finding it all a little intimidating whilst Hamish has been less perturbed by it. Now heading to Ko Samui by train to experience the real Thailand. We are travelling first class, but that is very much Thai first class! Hua Lamphong Station is full of life and characters. The police ...

    Weird Creatures in Mirkwood

A travel blog entry by rachel_drier on Feb 09, 2014

While we were on our journey through Mirkwood we all got weird feelings walking on the path. After a few days, we came to a stream that Beorn had warned us not to touch. We cross using a boat that was already there, but Bombur falls in and has been asleep for days since. We were all forced to carry him. Tired and hungry we go off the path, and saw flickering lights ahead. We got up closer and saw elves sitting around a campfire talking and singing. We all ...

As the party didn't finish until about 3am we kept partying the morning away until we retired to bed. The new years eve celebrations turned into the new years day celebrations. As part of the package for the room we had a free breakfast down in the restaurant so we woke up and had a nice breakfast buffet then went back to bed afterwards. Might as well make the most of the hotel room while ...

Jenny had heard about this new food truck place that had just popped up around the corner called Flap Jacks which does pancakes. We went there to get some brekky and found out they did savoury pancakes as well so we got one of those. It was basically a bacon and egg mcmuffic but instead of English muffins, it was sandwiched between two fluffy pancakes. Who hasn't thought of this before? ...
