We took a bus in from our campsite to spend Canada Day in Ottawa. A much better alternative to driving when there are going to be approx 500,000 people coming into town for the celebration! We made our way to Parliament Hill for the ceremonies and joined the crowds! It was one very special day, the crowds, the colours, the pomp and ceremony, the jubilant atmosphere, the entertainers both on stage and off was something extraordinary to experience! ... a lot of my travels. Remembering my trekking in Burma, the lanterns in Seoul on Buddha's birthday, the golden temples glittering in the sunlight of Bangkok, etc. I realize now that this experience will have changed me forever. Not for worst, but for good. However, no matter how much it feels nice to be back home, one thing keeps running through my mind: when will I be able go back? :)

... into Greece. I got to eat my first spannnacotta (spinach and ricotta pie). Amy and I also got some delicious ice cream. Once we left the ferry we made our way straight to the camp ground. Michelle had also warned us about how horrible this accommodation was, so we weren't expecting much. We were presently surprised when we got there though as it didn't seem so bad. The toileting situation really is disgusting ...

The staff had overbooked when we placed our reservation so we were upgraded to the next level up, which was quite nice. It wasn't exactly luxurious but pretty fancy nonetheless. We were bothered by the elevator noise to the point that my fiancee had trouble getting sleep.
