Our last day in Florida was spent in beautiful, historic, St. Augustine’s. A definite tourist attraction filled with lovely homes and lots of taverns, restaurants and shops. There are a couple cool looking sailing vessels there too. We had another fantastic meal in a restaurant called Harry’s Seafood. If you go, order the She Crab soup, it was the best I’ve ever eaten!

I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with ...

As always, we got up bright and early leaving Cocoa Beach to travel to Daytona Beach. We made a relatively graceful exit from the marina, in part because we left before the winds picked up and in part because the ...

The Most Popular Test For Herpes

Given that little one do not have strong immune system to fight versus this disease, the effects of this infection are quite fatal on the infant greatly. ... to realize that there is an itsy bitsy toilet in the room that I am expected to sit on without breaking. Unfortunately, desperate times call for desperate measures, and I was desperate. So, I pull the door closed, shuck my pants, and sit.

Then, I look out the window and see a bunch of faces gawking at me, and I realized that I had forgotten to shut the curtains.

No, I'm just kidding. I got very lucky though, because I did forget to shut the ...

One Week Countdown

... the adventure ahead. It really has been my dream. My last two semesters at UNF, I had a small picture of Italy taped to the inside of my binder and I have had a picture of Italy in my bedroom for several years to make sure I traveled there one day. It's surreal that my "one day" is seven days from now... I will be able to see so many things during those six weeks and I'm sure I will be craving more! ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel

Only one downpoint, Overall was very good.

    from

My family of three stayed here a few weeks ago. I will begin with the only poor aspect. That was at check-in. We arrived about 8 or 9 o'clock. There were three ladies working the front desk, but only two customers being waited on. When the thrid employee finally moved over to her computer, she made no effort to acknowledge me. Two men came up and stepped in front of me. She helped them. Finally, I stepped forward. No "good evening, how can I help you" or any other polite greeting. Just a flat "Yes." She never smiled, never said said anything more than she absolutely had to. She did not even say "thank you" or "hope you enjoy your stay," not a thing.

    It was awesome!

    from

I stayed at the Hilton 4/13 - 4/15/2004. When I arrived I was surprised that I was upgraded to an executive suite, which I didn't request! The room faced the St. John River, had a balcony and was beautiful and clean. The room also faced the freeway, but I never had any problems with noise. I even left my balcony door open most of the time. The Ruth Chris is awesome! There is a water taxi that comes to the Hilton that will take you from the Hilton to the River Landing. The Hotel is also in walking distance to the Chart House and River City Brewing Company. I can't wait to go back next year and I will absolutely stay at the Hilton!

    Another example of Hilton inconsistency

    from

I wonder why the only two favorable reviews of this hotel were submitted by someone who lives in Jacksonville. Why would he/she stay at the hotel? Perhaps an employee of the hotel trying to boost the ratings? Anyway more to the point, this hotel is an example of one oh the many Hiltons that have not had any updating in years. In my opinion Hilton is the most inconsistent chain. This represents the low end of what Hilton has to offer. It is full service, but if you don't have an interest in room service or the lounge, you'd be better off in a newer lower priced chain.

    Clean but dated

    from

The other reviewer is right, the room we had was 80s-looking but to me clean is more important. After reading the other reviews of the Omni and Adams Mark I chose the Hilton because it seemed the least offensive of the hotels in the area.

    Awesome Location that Sizzles!

    from

Truely the culture and variety of Jacksonville. Superb accomodations and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse make this an excellent choice for business, leisure and ball game visitors. This facility is fully loaded with all the amenities including a pool and jacuzzi overlooking the water! You can also cruise on a wonderful dinner cruise directly from the hotel's dock! Easy access to downtown and Alltel make this the #1 choice for the truely savvytraveler!

    Not True Hilton Quality

    from

I booked the Hilton Riverfront on their website for $62 a night. I thought I was getting a deal, but was very disapointed upon arrival.

    Great Hotel

    from

Good Hotel, Fair rates and excellent staff. I enjoyed my stay and will always come back.

Ecellent Value if you Open Your Eyes

    from

I don't know quite where the other reviewer stayed but the Hilton is awesome. Certainly much nicer than the Adams Mark across the water. The onsite Ruth's Chris and pool are great. The Princess of Jacksonville leaves from the hotel pier and is great for the second night's dinner. The rooms and conference room are fine, certainly better than the Radisson! I found them adequately furnished and very clean!

    A truly ugly hotel

    from

If ever a hotel needed a renovation, this would be it. They make a valiant effort to keep the guest rooms clean, but with ugly wallpaper borders and, I'm not kidding, a seashell-scalloped bathroom sink, this place looks like Home Depot circa 1986.The restaurant and bar areas are just crammed into the side of the lobby and should be avoided. The bar at the Ruth's Chris and the end of the corridor has a much better atmosphere. The fitness center is a step up from a joke.Oh and don't think just because you have a "guaranteed late arrival" that there will actually be a room waiting for you. I've had to walk to the not-so-adjacent Radisson at midnight.
