... capital, Reykjavik, on Thursday. Goodness! These Northern European words are going to be the death of me! We start our journey home at midnight (GMT) on Thursday (8/13) via Berlin and Newark arriving Houston IAH on Friday at 4:50pm CDT. Unfortunately, the weather is not looking too rosy over there. Finally finished, we walked into the display area where all manner of stalls selling leather goods (belts, hand bags/bag handles), hats, jewellery, clothing and craft were set up. None of us were particularly keen to buy the products but it was fun wandering through and browsing. Behind the stalls was the livestock. We saw the biggest longhorn steer we'd ever encountered as well ...

    Day 8 - Heading home

... outside and up the rollup stairs to board the 66-seater, gate checking the rolling bag again.  On the plane, they were overbooked by one, and offered a $600 voucher and a hotel room for someone to spend the night in Houston, flying in the morning.  We thought about it, but a guy volunteered, and we were soon in the air. No problems to Birmingham, just a couple of minutes of rough air, and we touched down in Birmingham.  Vacation ...
