Not a Fun Place!
The Garden Hilton is a businessman's hotel in the wrong location. The hotel has an average indoor pool, exercise room and a small game room. Most people come to the Dells to have fun. Do not stay here if you are part of a group or are traveling with kids. You are not allowed to make any noise at all. Lounge is nothing more than a few bar stools in the lobby. No entertainment. Also, hotel did not care that we did not receive the type of room we reserved and no one did a thing to make amends. Restaurant is only open in the morning and is way overpriced. If you want to have fun, don't stay here!
Great room and great location
My wife and I are in our late 20's and just wanted to get away for the weekend ( gambling and waterparks! ). The Dells is always a fun place to go. Every hotel in the Dells is overpriced, so we ended up staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in the jacuzzi suite for $129.00 a night. Comparing that with the other hotels in the Dells that is a pretty good rate. The hotel is super clean and very quiet. The service was good. Another cool thing is that the Hilton has an agreement with the Wilderness and you can buy a daily indoor waterpark pass for $20 a person. You can't do that at any other hotel. The waterpark was a blast. It was crowded but not overcrowded since there is no general admission allowed. This hotel is in the middle of the strip and it is about 100 feet from Houlihans restaurant. If you are looking to get away for the weekend I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Loved the Hilton Garden Inn
We were looking for a nice place to stay the night. I was impressed by this hotel. Clean and nicely decorated, rooms were a good size w/ microwave, fridge, desk, etc., movie selection was amazing, staff was very friendly. Great value for the money.
Great Clean Hotel
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I took my wife there for a night get away and it was perfect, I couldn't have ask for any better. If you are looking for a fun filled swimming adventure in the Dells this is not the place for you. If you are looking to go for a quite trip to the dells and not have a lot of screaming kids running around - This is for you!
Great Business Travel Hotel
Unbelievable value, compared to many of the hotels in this area where you are accosted by a Cloud of Chlorine gas when you enter the lobby. Free High Speed Internet, lots of plugs, great breakfast and a nice lounge. Great for business travel. Would be awesome for families too. I see you can buy wristbands for use at the Wilderness Resort/Waterpark which I know you can't do elsewhere. Stay here and use their waterpark !
Loved it! Going back in Spring!
We stayed at the Wis. Dells Hilton this Labor Day weekend, and had a great time. The rooms smelled so new, the bathroom was very nice, they had fresh baked cookies on the check-in desk everyday, and the towels were thick and thirsty. Even on the holiday weekend that we went, the indoor pool and jacuzzi's were empty. We had them all to ourselves. The staff was polite and informative, and the All-American Buffet breakfast was delicious. And, it was only $79/night! The prices went up to $124 a few weeks after I booked, but that is still a great price for the quality you receive.
It was okay
We stayed here on a Saturday night in late August because it was the only decent hotel offering such a good rate ($79/night). I knew it was brand new, so I thought we'd test it.
It was okay. It was typical Hilton. Very nicely decorated, but not much for families, even though the hotel had nothing but families staying there on this particular night.
The pool area is very SMALL! There were about 20 people in the pool when we went down. That was about 15 too many! There were kids playing with a beach ball and disturbing everyone. Several staff members came through and did nothing. There were also very few chairs for parents who are required to come down and chaperone their children (I did wonder where the parents of the beach-ball throwing kids were though ... I never saw them). I had to go outside to get a chair to sit on.
They have 2 extremely small hot tubs outside too (I think the sign posted said they fit 3 people in each). When we came, there were at least 8 people in each.
The room was not bad. Although when we sat on one of the made beds right after check in, my daughter felt something in the bed. We turned back the covers to find a tube of deodorant made into the bed. I couldn't and didn't want to even imagine how that got there in a bed that was supposedly just made. We also had to ask twice to have the bed fully re-made.
For the price, it was okay, but it is definitely not family-friendly. I thoguht it was a typical Hilton in the middle of the Dells. If you're just looking for a nice hotel to sleep in, this may be a good fit for you. Don't expect much though if your kids like to swim. There are many other hotels in the Dells with much better options for this.
Did Not Honor Promotion
Very Adamant about one of thier promotions. Was in writing and we met conditions and still said they wont honor it. I went through the backdoor and supposdly hack thier site for the Sunday is Free Promotion
No cheesey dells info here
Nice Hotel, no tacky Dells info guides found here, that really made it a cut above the rest, but being new it is a really nice place to stay with mini fridge and microwave in room, nice indoor pool, everything is very clean, but again still a new place. Would stay again. Liked very much you needed your key card to get into everything, that made you feel safe while travling. Above average rooms and nice little touches around, nothing looked like you basic CHEAP hotel which is an added plus. Hopefully the rates won't go up to high like all the other dells area hotels. 79.00/nt was great price for area. Also hotel is right in the with all the other hotels, didn't have to drive or walk far for most things.
Don't even bother!
Should have stayed at the AmericInn. As a business traveler I was so excited to have a Hilton in the Dells, airplane miles, ect... Not worth the hassels. Hotel rooms are grossly over priced. Staff very rude and the hotel is impossible to find, very poorly signed. I drove past it three times before I found it. Staff was unable to help give me directions, I called from my cell phone. Front desk staff did not speak very good english and the room was very dusty. Reserved a non-smoking room and was place in a smoking room. High speed internet did not work an the mirror in the bathroom was cracked. Dead insects in the bathroom lighthing. Swimming pool was over-ran with children and their room service took three (3) hours to deliver my food. I would have been better off going out to a sit down resturant.

We drove back to the Amish area and bought some homemade breads and preztel at Pleasant View Bakery which is located in the basement of a Amish farm house in Dalton, Wi. There were many Amish ladies baking the bread as we were in the store. We then drove through the countryside and found a vegetable stand ...

Les finally read a sign saying that we should just take what we wanted and to pay on the honor system. So we did and we were very happy. ...

The weather reports were predicting 100% rain, and we were bummed. But when we called Sail Door County the night before they said their findings showed no rain, so if we wanted to come they would take us. Yes ! We had an ...
... Ended up never depositing it. I guess this late in the year they don't care too much. We put our sticker out at every park but the only one where it was checked was Governor Dodge later today-and we aren't even sure they noticed they just waved us through. No one at Devils Lake or even Peninsula was there to notice if we had it.
We enjoyed the drive through the countryside, ...

We arrived at the bland and nondescript Carr Valley Cheese factory in La Valle about 11am and were able to watch a part of the cheese making process as they cut curd and pressed and stacked the rounds. Bought more curd, plus some of their specialty cheese.
