The Day After The Hurricane- Great Accommodation!
Newly opened HGVC. Although we are not owners we would thoroughly recommend these accommodations. We arrived the day after the hurricane to no power. The desk staff went out of their way to accommodate us on the 6th floor so we would have a great view and some fresh air. Fortunately, the power was restored the same night. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed Tuscan style apartment. We have also stayed at HGVC Sea World and loved it there. The new accommodations are slightly smaller but have all the necessary amenities. The full kitchen was well stocked. Bathrooms are good. The living areas are comfortable and well appointed. When we requested fresh towels and shampoos etc. the staff came immediately; within minutes housekeeping phoned us to ask if we had everything we wanted. We did do the Timeshare Talk: it was very tempting, but we didn't want to commit ourselves. We would definitely stay here again on a weekly rent. It will be even better when all the buildings are finished.
Many of the wonderful palm trees were knocked down in the hurricane but the staff worked really hard to put them back up within days. The site looks good again.
There is a great Publix supermarket nearby.
My family and I stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on International drive for 7 days. We rented a 2 bedroom villa. The villas were very spacious and beautifully decorated. You will love the huge whirlpool tub located adjacent to the master bedroom. The resort was very clean and the staff was pleasant and very accommodating. The resort is located close to everything, Premier Outlet Mall, restaurants, grocery store, Disney Theme parks and Seaworld amusement park. We will definely be going back, because I loved it so much, I brought a Hilton Grand Vacation Club vacation ownership.
This is an absolutely great vacation resort for couples and families. My husband and I stayed here in Nov03 and were amazed at how clean and beautiful this resort was inside and out. The positives: Great location, near Sea World and Universal; great pools, lots of activities for children everyday; clean, clean, clean; kitchen and whirlpool bathrooms; patio with screened porch; 32 TV and decorative rooms.
The negatives: only one pool heated, had to share the pool with allot of people & little kids; the exercise equipment needed to be updated at their gym near the main entrance of the pool.
Other than those two things, perfect place to have a nice vacation.
Beware! Hilton Grand Vacations
We booked our hotel reservations at the Hilton Grand Vacations new resort on International Drive in Orlando last February, secured it with a $500 deposit for arrival on June 25, 2004. On June 23 we got a message that they had overbooked and we had no room. We had reserved a 3 bedroom condo for our once in a lifetime vacation with children and grandchildren specifically in this resort which just opened this year. We chose this resort because of health issues. They have now offered to move us to the Seaworld facility which is 10 years old and from reliable sources we hear it is a dump! We can't find other accomadations anywher in the Orlando area. Our vacation is ruined and we have six non-refundable airline tickets, and four adults who have taken scheduled vacation time off work for the next eight days. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas? We were also told owners have first rights and that they knew right after we booked that there was no room, they were just hoping something would become avaiable. BEWARE!!!! WE have been long time Hilton Honors Members and will never saty in a Hilton Hotel again!!! Resort looked very nice, guess we will never know!
I am a Hilton Honors Member who was visiting the Orlando area and noticed the HGVC International Drive on the Hilton website. There was limited information and no actual pictures on the website since it was a newly opened property. I booked a one bedroom suite for 5 nights after talking to the helpful folks at the front desk, but still a little apprehensive as to what we would be getting. This property is outstanding! It truely exceeded our expectations. The pool area and surroundings alone is worth the money. They have a huge kid-friendly pool which can accommodate numerous bathers and activities and also has a 25 yard lane to swim laps without interference. My daughter loved the interactive fountains and the two large hot tubs. The one bedroom suite is as nice as any luxury hotel we have experienced. Granite countertops, a full sized kitchen stocked with dishes, cookware and silverware. A multi-person whirlpool jet tub and separate large tile shower added to the accomodations. We stayed in a corner unit with an expanded screened-in veranda. I apperciated the little items like the DVD player, soap for the dishwasher and detergent for the clothes washer. Housekeeping comes daily and you do not have to pay extra, like some of the other places I reviewed. Don't overpack because you can always run a load of landry. I needed only half the clothes I brought down. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with multiple fountains throughout. It really looks like a tuscan village. There is a nice workout room, fenced in half court for basketball and an activities room with two excellent pool tables and a giant TV. They had a good amount of activities throughout the day. Our favorites were the midday ice cream sundaes and happy hour from 5-7 pm. Last but not least is the friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed the resort so much that we cancelled plans to visit some of the other attractions and booked an extra night because it was so relaxing. One caution, because it is a vacation club with timeshare options, there are stipulations regarding the use of your Hilton Honors points and you cannot accrue points while you stay. That was the only downside I encountered.
Worst experience for looking to purchase a time share. The resort is beautiful, no doubt about that. But as we made comparisons to out Interval International property, we were rudley told things like they are not a Hilton.....excuse me but we are 5 star owners and the Hilton is not better than 5 stars. Anyway the cost was 5K more than what we paid for a two bwdroom unit every other year so when we turned it down and went infromt of two managers they were rude and obnocious. Would not like to have them as spokesmen for my business. They pressured and made uncalled for bad comments about our property. Not very professional. We would have bought if the cost was more in line but after speaking to the managers, NO WAY.
Superb, but be careful with room location...
Spent 3 nights here at Easter, having been bumped from Sheraton Vistana Villages. The resort is relatively new, in the Italianate style common to the area. Had a 2-bed suite, which was immaculate - spacious accommodation, massive whirlpool, full kitchen & laundry facilities, great beds and faultless service. Pool was huge, attractive and well laid out. Staff were very helpful, particular reception and the pool bar. Two issues to be aware of though. Firstly, at the higher floor levels you are aware that you are on the International Drive strip, with a view of the adjacent Publix supermarket and other stark buildings detracting from the resort illusion. Much more serious, particularly as it is a resort design issue, is an air-conditioning noise problem. The external condenser units are located in groups within false balconies on side elevations, which means that batteries of these noise-generating units face each other on adjacent buildings.
The result is that any balcony on a side elevation or corner site as we were, facing another building, is subjected to high noise levels on the balcony - similar to that of sitting in an aircraft! With the balcony door shut noise was not a problem within the suite. Choose an apartment near to and facing the pool, at 1st or 2nd floor level, and both these issues disappear. Would have no hesitation in staying again for an extended vacation on this basis.
A great place to stay
My husband and I just spent 4 days at this resort and we had an excellent time. When we checked in the staff was just great. They would call us everday and inform us of the daily activities. The rooms were clean and well stocked. I had read reviews of this place but it truly exceeded my expectations. We are going to Orlando again and would not think of staying anywhere else
This is the life! Stay at HGVC Sea World
We are owners at the HGVC at Sea World International Center. We have been going there since 1999, mostly during the week before Christmas. We bought this time share because it was close to the parks (especially Sea World), but the resort has so much to do that we rarely go anyway anymore - just relax and do things at the resort. The units are spacious and well maintained. The staff is wonderful, especially recreation (which we use alot). We had a great time at Las Vegas Night (won lunch at the Deli), saw 4-5 movies in the on campus theatre (come on time or early during peak seasons) and participated in wonderful activities like candle making, candy cane hunts, Christmas Eve stocking deliveries by one of Santa's elves, Karioke, and a wine tasting complete with cheese and crackers. Call me silly but relaxing is alot more fun that standing in line at a theme park.
Excellent place to stay
Rooms very clean, quiet, above adverage in size. Kitchen well stoocked.
Furnishings above adv., Staff helpful. Located across from Sea World.
Only draw back was no restaurant, only pool bar. 3 very clean pools.
Fun for all ages (supervised club for small kids, vidio game room, extensive vcr/movie library & teen tactivities. tennis, shaded trails, pool toys.) Very enjoyable week.

The airplane ride was long but the kids were great. Madison even took a 45 minute nap. We arrived in Orlando around 5 pm. Our adventures began at Duke's Last Resort Restaurant. This restaurant was an eye opener. We were not in California anymore. Lucky the kids were too little to understand the humor. Cooper was bothered by the waiter and didn't …
... were not there, either.
Onto Big Thunder, walking on. Just love walking on all these rides! Big Thunder is another favourite and I’m not a big roller coaster fan.
I wanted to go on Tom Sawyer’s Island this time (we had passed in 2011). Not the greatest visit unless you have kids or have never been before but it has some great views of the rest of the park. After this, we picked up Fast Passes for ...
... lot of fun.
We ate an early lunch at the Three Broomsticks (corn, potatoes, chicken, fish, chips, and other tasty English staples) before giving the 8th Voyage of Sinbad show another go. It was not worth another go. The actors were bored, the jokes were bad, and the actual stunts were average at best. We decided the line for The Incredible Hulk Coaster was too long and finished up at Islands of Adventure after buying a couple more souvenirs (most ...
