Mad dogs and Englishmen…So the temperature is 100 when we
get up and after breakfast it is off to the Tourist Centre to find out what to
do. We are in Red Rock Country so there are loads of trails and walks. The guy
suggests we do Fay Canyon trail, shady and flat, so off we go. A lovely walk and for our comfort, cloudy
would you believe, at least for the most part. Still incredibly hot but we were
prepared! After walking ...
... a couple of days of cold rain...it was saturday so Mark and Svieta took us shopping but it was so wet and cold that even the locals looked shocked.. the most interesting thing about rain here, is they have no drainage system, as it only rains for 10 days a year.... and we had 2 of them..hmm.!!..and so the roads and parks flood very quickly.. the main road close to our apartment was flooded and the grassy park and ...
... the wedding tent, or chuppah (HOOP-ah). The ceremony was conducted by the rabbi, with the assistance of a retired Catholic priest – the two often work together on “hybrid” ceremonies. There were light moments, especially when Ashley and Ben had difficulty stomping on the traditional Jewish wedding glass, but the deed finally was done.

... from the Western Provinces of Canada. In late January and February, we will have caravans of a couple dozen or so RV's coming in to stay (from 4 days to 3+ weeks) from Quebec. We always enjoy brushing up on our French language skills to help out when these visitors arrive. I translated the park rules into French 3 years ago, and have just checked them out and we'll be using them again this year.
