There is no shortage of trees in Florida especially where we are driving in the Osceola National Forest, so lush and green! When we dieseled up today, Clarence put our truck and fifth wheel on a scale. We weighed more that what we thought we did. A whopping 23,600 lbs and that ...

The menu consisted of black-eyed pea salad, fried green tomatoes, creamy grits and shrimp, biscuits, and green tomato/blueberry cobbler. Everything was tasty, with the possible exception of dessert, which I didn't love and neither did John who helped make it . Darin shared ...

At the end of the tour, we stopped at Leopold's ice creamery (a local institution), where Ted had a strawberry cone whilst I had an affogato. Even though I'm supposed to be dairy free, I made an exception. It was about this time that we realised we'd forgotten to tip our guide. After a few days in Charleston, we packed up and headed to our next destination on our way home...Savannah. But first, we stopped at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.

The Eighth Bomber Command (Re-designated 8th AF in February 1944) was activated as part of the United States Army Air Forces January 28, 1942, at Hunter Field in Savannah, Georgia. Brigadier General Ira C. Eaker took the headquarters to England the next ...

... travelling, there hasnt been any Gridiron or Basketball games we could go to. So we decided to check out the local minor league team, the Savannah Sand Gnats. There were hot dogs, Josh drank beer, we sang 'take me out to the ballgame' - It was a really great game, and a fun way to spend a few hours on a Friday night! We had to leave early, as it was heading into the 11th innings and we have an early start tomorrow - off to Florida - our final Southern State!
