The adventure begins! We closed up the house, packed the computer, loaded the car and headed to Colorado Springs. After running a few errands, we took Skippy to a park so that he could run and play and we could spend some quality time with the little guy. We went to dinner and then ...

Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States jasonmarshToday Frank stayed home to make us his famous pork chili. Takes hours of love and we were all grateful. Antonio went for another long marathon training run. Chuck, Hector & Diana went foraging for Jack In The Box, an Apple store and a double feature ;) "Couples Retreat" & "Whip It" both good and more importantly cheap. Only $6.50 and you know we did the 2 fer 1 cause we're geto(boys) like that. Made it back to home base in time to see Dollhouse and feast on dinner. Great day for all.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States fotogeeks... the first turns of the season, skiers and snowboarders will have access to a top-to-bottom run consisting of 1,000 vertical feet via Chair 1. The trails Catwalk, Mambo and Homerun make up this opening day run which is over a mile in length. When this news came in to the Ski Country office ...
Loveland, Colorado, United States colorado_ski... town called Manitou Springs by way of Hwy 24. Such cute shops and restaurants, I wish we could've spent more time there. We took Hwy 24 a few more miles to Pike's Peak. P.P. is very historical. Back in the day, gold prospectors would cross the country on long trips via dangerous trails with the words "Pike's Peak or Bust" written on their wagons! The whole entire area of P.P. is so cute...very touristy but not overdone or ...
Cascade, Colorado, United States kimmytravels... Mall. While we were there, we went into this place called Deb (I think) and tried on a whole bunch of dresses and took some pictures....they then asked us to not take pictures...which we still did anyways. After that we went to Wal-Mart Super Center, which is open 24/7.... I bought Desperado and a Steve Earle cd. After all the excitment, we went back to the house and relaxed the rest of the night.

The symbolic torch was cycled down from the state capital in Denver yesterday before arriving at Colorado Springs city hall this morning. After some photo ops and general instructions more than a hundred of us (mostly Tibetans) marched two miles to the Olympic Committee headquarters where we met with a representative of the committee's PR department ...
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States evensong... we drove out the Garden of the Gods park. The kids loved seeing the rock climbers and even got in on the action climbing on some of the small boulders. We sat for nearly an hour watching climbers scale huge rock formations. It's quite amazing that these guys can go straight up and there are very few injuries.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States mknott... in (heaven forbid our own initiation of!) these amazing things. We look for programs or organizations that are already doing pretty good things and see how we can help them out while putting forth the least amount of effort at our own involvement. Is it that we don't believe that We, individually, have been uniquely called and commanded to take initiative and action on behalf of those things that we claim we believe? If we don't believe we are ...
Denver, Colorado, United States rachelbuckham... by a man asking if we could help him crew. Of course we could and so we set off to help in what ways we had no idea...we met his wife and proceeded over the next 30 minutes or so to unpack, inflate, and eventually launch the balloon. Tsugumi and Achan were offered a ride while his wife and I followed in the "chase truck". Much to my surprise ballons don't really fly that far and so after a 1/4 mile trip and a short touch down I jumped in as ...
