sheer exhilaration. I could easily hold 30-35mph and topped out close to 40mph. I could have gone faster but had to slow down for traffic in front of me.

Now that I've climbed Pikes Peak, I don't have a strong desire to do it again, unless it is a very calm day (one of the rangers told me that the winds of 15-20mph were about average).

... Luckily I did do a snow angel earlier in the morning on one of our pit stops. The kids hadn't though. When it was lunchtime we were still traveling so we had a gourmet lunch from the 7 eleven! Saturday morning we awoke in Beautiful Colorado Springs. We didn't have any plans for the morning but at 3pm were had plans to attend a friends about 30 minutes west of Colorado Springs. ... a few hours, we were on I-25 heading north to Raton where we ascended to almost 8,000 feet, and as we all know, what goes up must come down. Going up, the Dodge actually shifted into second gear, and coming down, we used the Jake Brake. And, why is it that when you start the descent, there’s always a sharp curve? Maybe it’s supposed to slow you down but I don’t think that works.
