Stayed over in Charlotte last night. It was our first experience with AirBNB and it went well. Jonathan and his partner were very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. On the other hand our flight experience was not nearly as good. USAir/American Airlines really screwed the pooch. They were asking for volunteers to give up seats and we decided ...

"OK you may as well send it to my Australian address as I will be home in 3 weeks." ... four hours later than expected, Mom and I stopped by aunt Karen's house for a brief visit. We look forward to spending more time together tomorrow.

In all, day #1 was a success. We traveled safely, remained in good spirits, and enjoyed time together. We also had lovely accommodations for our first night on the road. PJ's Inn provided us with two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and kitchenette. Sweet dreams await!
