    Fortunately we had an 11:35 AM flight from Madrid to JFK so we didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn. A direct flight is always better! We actually took off on time. Time to read trough my journal and look at some photos and start processing our trip. Always something that I do on a return flight. Thank you Steve Jobs! The iPad makes it so much easier. This was a wonderful trip! We saw and did so much and we were never exhausted. Tired some days by dinner time, ...

    Our drive from New Jersey to the Hamptons took us up through New York. Sounds daunting but the roads and bridges just roll on though Brooklyn, across Staten Island then up through the Hampton Bays.
    The Hamptons lives up to it reputation having very, very grand houses on large, manicured properties. Lots of lovely (and expensive) shops in the quaint villages and long sandy ...

    Up early but then back to sleep after a handful of pandadine ,I think my cold has finally hit ..woke to find the girls already showered and dressed ....that's a first for the trip me still in bed and them ready to go ! The drugs must have worked .Anyhoooo up dressed breakfast downstairs ...Tracey had this really tasty doughnut ...... And we learnt that some Americans like to come to breakfast in their flannelette ...
