... exciting to finally exit the Mobile River into Mobile Bay. When we pulled into the Turner Marine Supply Marina on the Dog River at 2pm on November 15, our GPS registered a total trip distance of 1,356.2 statute miles. We celebrated our arrival with a well-deserved seafood dinner, our first real restaurant experience since leaving Chicago. Yum.

Pensacola... the show was good, the hotel was horrible.
For the record, Pensacola does not count as Florida. The panhandle is not Florida. I know Florida. Pensacola is Alabama light.
I couldn't even find a Publix nearby!
On to New Orleans!!!!!
:)
De camino hacia New Orleans, paramos a visitar dos Parques Nacionales, el Big Lagoon, uno de los mejores parques en la costa de los USA, y el Tarkiln Bayou Park, caracterizado por las raras especies de plantas como algunas carnivoras.

When i pulled up to the hotel I saw a dude on a BICYCLE. He was making a trip similar to mine only he started in St. Augustine FL and is bound for San Diego CA. on a bicycle.....he rode 180 miles today. Yep, it takes on kinds.

Well, old jenny davis wasn't working. Too bad for us.
Anyway, I'm driving with my dad from the Flora-bama bar to Pensacola where we're staying tonight and I'm trying to figure out why. Why are all these brand new condos here? We have to know that someday a storm like Catrina ...
I met my good friend Mark in Gulf Shores to mark the bookend of my trip. We had a great time with his family doing the normal Gulf Shores things like lots of fishing, talking and whatnot. I did get a few pictures here, but at this ...
Gulf Shores, Alabama, United States sirsmonkey42... feed the sea gulls with little bit. They did and called us telling us that there was lots of cranes there. Well, we was in Foley already and turned around. I am glad they called because I did get some good pictures there. Like I said this trip was just too short. Our little sweetheart grand-baby was the best, sweetest little one on this trip! Thank You Father for a wonderful time with the kids.
... community. Within a week or so, we may know whether we will be going to Haiti or another country. Our plans changed when were notified by Peace Corps that our departure was to be delayed until April 18th for Haiti. The in-country staff needed more time to set up the training facilities in the town of Kenscoff and prepare for our arrival. This notice came about two weeks before we were initially scheduled to depart and two days ...
