... through four speakeasies, which were still very much functioning taverns. Our tour guide was very informative and 'colourfully' spoke of the characters who owned and would frequent the establishments. Really, really had a dislike for Mabel Walker Willebrandt! Look it up people. Quick word on shopping. Not everything here is cheap but you can wrangle out a bargain or two in one of the ...

... people are running, roller blading and cycling near the beach.

We finally get to Navy Pier and take a walk around. There is a mini amusement park there - ferris wheel, flying chairs, putt putt golf. I dont find Chicago as exciting or as much to do and see as San Francisco or of course LA.

Ended up in a great bar/restaurant referred by the bus driver on the tour - great piano bar and the music, cosmopolitans and the seafood entree's were fantastic. (Escargot, with ...

... just as the sun was rising. Qantas were great. There was no shortage of food and we didn't get a wink of sleep with all the great movies and TV shows on the entertainment system. The three hour layover in LA was plenty of time to get through immigration and customs before walking to Terminal 7 for our United Airlines flight to Chicago. It was only a 3 hr 40 minute flight and we arrived in the Windy City. And windy it was! It was a rough landing but we ...
