    Driving from Henryetta we called into a small town Checotah (home of Carrie Underwood), which we just happen to come across.

    Larry came here to bring Sue to the airport, so we spent our first night here going out to dinner with him and then relaxing by the shore of the Arkansas River, watching the dancing lights on the bridges and the occassional barge.

    ... a few barges move up and down the river. But mostly we see jet skies and pleasure boats enjoying the water. There is an old railroad bridge very nearby that has been turned into a pedestrian/bike bridge that’s part of the 17-mile River Trail. It goes from the park across the river to the Clinton Presidential Center. It’s great for a walk after dinner. The park may not be fancy, but the scenery and view make up for it. ...
