      ... us a room at the Livermore DoubleTree Hotel which is right around the corner from where she lives. After getting the kids calmed down and watching a movie, Suzi and I were able to escape the crowd and visit both Lisa and Tami as the worked Friday night.

      The grandkids and greatgrandkids are always delighted to see Grandma Suzi and it is always delightful for us to spend time with family.

      ... is great fun. California drivers are cautious and courteous (not) as they hurl with abandon around the flowing turns of the Oakland hills. I'm glad I got to park the rig a few days at the lovely Rosen home. Sadie made a new friend in Riley, Mark and mostly Fonda's dog. The dogs got along pretty good with only a few timeouts.       ... Skagway at all - 12 hours earlier the plane had been grounded in Juneau because of weather. The water route to Skagway is about 20 miles - a 15 minute flight - for the adventurous, a 480 miles trip by road.
