Weather is a broken record, cloudy with a threat of rain. About an 80% threat of rain this afternoon. So we made plans for the morning.

First, we go downtown to Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens. It was the home of the daughter and sons of the first Texas native governor. His last name was Hogg. The sons were Michael, William, and James. The daughter was given a family name, Ima. Our guide on the tour ...

    Several interesting factoids:

Prejudice did not stop with the settlement in Louisiana; for a long period, Louisiana outlawed French, and for two generations children were punished for speaking it anywhere on ...

... is bigger we found something that little ol' Perth had, even bigger!!
Anyways, we decided to go on a ride which was a glorified swing - $4 tickets per person. The kids were saying things like 'they're screaming and it's not even fast' - the tone of voice was dripping with contempt. So you can imagine their deadpan faces on the ride - not a glimmer of a smile, just a 'we're too cool for this sort of stuff' look. Having accused our kids of snobbery and ...
