Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

Later we met my ex-work colleague Ann Marie for some drinks. The location was perfect as all we had to to was walk across the way from our hotel - hopefully not enough time to develop hypothermia on the way.

... opposite called "Fish City Grill" - Home of the Oyster Nachos. I'm not sure this is a good thing. I guess it's meant to be! The decor was nice and rustic and the food was pretty good too. I had battered cod with waffle fries - the cod was so succulent but tasted slightly bland due to the Cajun spices on the fries. Ben went with blackened Drum with champagne mandarins which was also excellent.
