... the last few months to cheer everyone up when times have been a little difficult. Chris and I decided it was time to go and see it. The bridge is printed on so many posters, written about in so many books and on television shows. It's been on my 'bucket list' now for a very long time. First stop on route, the zoo. We had heard so many great things about San Francisco Zoo, therefore expectations were pretty high, but even then, we were ...

Following the path the sunlight charts, iridescent and lovely, as it slips from waxy foliage to the curls in my mother's hair as she soaks in the warmth in the backyard. That same light shining in the parentheses of my brothers smile and the crescents of my my dad's eyes as they tell me stupid jokes on a bike ride.

We got to castle’s welcome center much later in the afternoon than we hoped and found out that the next tour was at 5PM. ... and cheese omelets! Soooo good! Dave said, much to my delight, "if it keeps raining we'll get a hotel" because the bed cover leaks a little at the sliding windows between it and the cab. The plan had been for Dave and the doggies to stay and fish at the lake while I went to the Refuge spa in Carmel for a few hours but we decided to leave the lake together. I was so excited about this spa. It’s considered the best spa on the west coast and the ...

I'm in the "B" riding group, better known as Bravo! There are 4 groups and riders choose which average speed they wish to ride. Our group targets 15 miles an hour but today we rode an average of 17 miles an hour across almost 60 miles. I was inspired by 2 soldiers on hand cycles who rode in our group all day...it was amazing to follow these guys while hitting speeds in excess of 30 miles an hour with them.
