... blog on our last trip, I took another photo of the backyard. It's greener and prettier as Spring is here, dry, but here. The flowers are blooming and the leaves are soaking up the sun.

I discovered after my last blog that not everyone knows to click on the photo to see a larger version. If there are several pictures, they may be viewed as a slide-show. I won't name names, but go ahead and try it, click on the photo. See?

We stopped at the summit and I captured a couple of pictures. Driving past Lake Shasta, the lake was really low with new roads made to the water.

... a moment of accomplishment for me that I will never forget.

What was interesting though, was immediately after we returned to the hotel after the ceremony and dinner, I realized that it was already far behind in the distance, and what was fast approaching in the headlights was my trip to Washington D.C. ... see Harness Horse Racing teams exercising their horses on the track. It was fun to watch them. It is early in the season and the park has alot of empty spaces.
Wed we went to Sutters Fort, which was the spot that the Donner Party ended up at after being rescued. Sutter himself sent out several parties to find them. The history of the Fort and Sutter is very interesting and I encourage you to check it out.
