      ... State Capitol is therefore not historically accurate, although it does (unintentionally) represent some of the unappealing less-than-authentic aspects of the state (plastic surgery enthusiasts, inauthentic glitterati, Tom Cruise, etc.)

      In addition to the statue of Columbus, we visited the Senate Chamber, the book store, a multitude of historically recreated rooms, and saw the outside of the Governor's office. We then made for Old ...

      Sutter’s life of trading, farming and providing refuge and safety to many was soon to end. In 1847 Sutter hired James Marshall to build a sawmill on the American River, 50 miles away, and on January 24, Marshall discovered a shiny nugget in the tailrace of the mill.
