In the never-ending quest for Hilton points, we are staying at the Garden Inn in Calabasas tonight. It is comfortable, clean, and in walking distance of Calabasas shops and restaurants where, there is an occasional Kardashian sighting (shudder).

Today we were picked up in a luxury car and taken to Paramount Studios for a VIP tour. The driver's name was Edgar and he took us on the interstate freeway #10 from Santa Monica and turned off near Melrose Drive.     The freeway was 5 lanes each way and almost bumper to bumper.  So many cars!   To avoid some of the busy streets, he took some of the residential streets in South Hollywood.  We saw a wide range ...

However, despite the increase of cement blocks, the ones placed within the forecourt are still chosen by a special committee who selects celebrities based on their contributions to Hollywood cinema. I was mainly on the hunt for Dick Van Dyke who Ruth found for me, and by the end of our time there we had tracked down all our favourites!

This is where the title of this post comes from, 'Californian Dreaming', it was amazing! We spent the time chilling out on the beach and in the sea. The hostel was a good location to use as a base and from there we took our time exploring the areas up and down the coast. One day we went on a 26 mile bike ride along the strand that lines the beach all the way to Venice Beach and ...

... New York time)! We will be starving! We have stayed at this Los Angeles hotel twice before, at the beginning and the end of our last trip. It is close to LAX and close to freeways to get anywhere we need to go easily. We can't believe we only have three more sleeps before our flight home :-( Mitch hasn't found a girlfriend with a father who owns a plumbing business that we can take over, so we are seriously considering option B which is to let Mitch do ...
